and into the 21st century, despite globalizing cultural forces. In spite of emergration and a well-developed connection to music influences from Britain and the United States, Irish music has kept many of its traditional aspects and has itself influenced many forms of music, such as country and roots music in the USA, which in turn have had some influence on modern rock music Irish literature For a comparatively small island, Ireland has made a disproportionately large contribution to world literature. Irish literature encompasses the Irish and English languages. Food and drink Food and cuisine in Ireland takes its influence from the crops grown and animals farmed in the island's temperate climate and from the social and political circumstances of Irish history Sport Gaelic football is the most popular sport in Ireland in terms of match attendance and community involvement, with about

History **** A long cold climatic spell prevailed until about 9,000 years ago, and most of Ireland was covered with ice. This era was known as the Ice Age. Population The populaion of Republic of Ireland is about three and a half million people and two offical languages English, and Gaelic, which is spoken by about half a million people. Economy **** Culture For an island of relatively small population, Ireland has made a disproportionately large contribution to world literature in all its branches, mainly in English. Poetry in Irish represents the oldest vernacular poetry in Europe with the earliest examples dating from the 6th century; Jonathan Swift, still often called the foremost satirist in the English language, was wildly popular in his day and remains so in modern times amongst both children and adults. The Irish tradition of folk music and dance is also widely known

Drugs and how they affect your health.

People can do dumb or dangerous things that could hurt themselves - or other people - when they use drugs. How Are Teens Affected? Young people are at risk for contracting HIV and developing AIDS. According to CDC, about 38,490 young people age 13 to 24 in the United States had been diagnosed with AIDS by the end of 2003. And the trend was increasing-from 3.9 percent diagnosed with AIDS in 1999 to 4.7 percent in 2003. In youth, as in adults, some populations are disproportionately affected. African Americans age 13 to 19 represent only 15 percent of the U.S. teenage population, but accounted for 66 percent of new AIDS cases in 2003. The reasons for this disparity are not completely understood; in fact, African American youth have lower rates of drug abuse than Whites and Hispanics. This remains a strong research priority area for NIDA. In general, middle and late adolescence is a time when young people engage in risk-taking

A keystone species is a species that is disproportionately connected to more species in the food-web. Keystone species have lower levels of biomass in the trophic pyramid relative to the importance of their role. The many connections that a keystone species holds means that it maintains the organization and structure of entire communities. The loss of a keystone species results in a range of dramatic cascading effects that alters trophic dynamics, other food-web

But an even higher percentage of Muslims (34%) and Hindus (30%) were younger than 15, while the share of Christians under 15 matched the global average (27%). These bulging youth populations are among the reasons that Muslims are projected to grow faster than the world’s overall population and that Hindus and Christians are projected to roughly keep pace with worldwide population growth. All the remaining groups have smaller-than-average youth populations, and many of them have disproportionately large numbers of adherents over the age of 59. For example, 11% of the world’s population was at least 60 years old in 2010. But fully 20% of Jews around the world are 60 or older, as are 15% of Buddhists, 14% of Christians, 14% of adherents of other religions (taken as a whole), 13% of the unaffiliated and 11% of adherents of folk religions. By contrast, just 7% of Muslims and 8% of Hindus are in this oldest age category.

There are three ways to increase tax revenue: the expansion of the circle of taxpayers, an increase in the number of objects from which the tax is raised, raising tax rates. Tax rates should be so high as to prevent inflation, but at the same time so low to stimulate capital investment, to ensure the development of production. Limiting the level of taxation is determined by the following criteria: 1. if the next increase of the tax rate revenues are growing disproportionately slow or declining; 2. if the reduced rate of economic growth, reduced long-term capital investment, deteriorating financial situation of the population; 3. the growing "shadow" economy, i.e. implicit or explicit tax evasion. The main features of the tax system are summarized in Table 7. In the tax system, there are a variety of benefits such as tax exemption for a number of years, reducing tax rates, subtract the deductible expenses, which the State concerned, the

By 1986 the old-style Siamese had vanished from the showbench and many people assumed that Siamese cats had always had a long body, wedge-shaped head and disproportionately large ears. Siamese cats had become extreme parodies of the original imports. In Australia, some Siamese appear even more extreme than their American cousins - with larger ears and even more
