In 1950 the Winter Garden Company decided to hold an Old Time Ball which was considered to be the first Blackpool Sequence Dance Festival. The major change in the history of the festival was the introduction of Latin American dancing in 1961. Three years later after many successful events it was upgraded to Championship status. The event with the biggest crowd appeal is the annual Professional Invitation Team Match which was first held in 1968. The largest numbers of contestants come from Japan, Germany, Italy and the USA, which sometimes upsets the Englishmen who would like to see more contestants from their nationality. There have been 8 main organizers to the festival. Currently the position belongs to Mrs Sandra Wilson. The Festival Nowadays There are 5 dance festivals held in Blackpool all together. These are the Blackpool Dance Festival, Freestyle Dance Championship, the Sequence Dance Festival, the British
Beauty pageants for small girls should be banned Today's beauty pageants are detrimental to a child's development. These kinds of competitions can lead to low selfconfidence and poor body image. While most beauty pageants cater strictly to girls, there are a growing number that include boys as well. I firmly believe that taking part of beauty pageants is pressured by contestants' parents. It is their vision of how their children should look and act like. Some children do not want to partake in those competitions because it is tiring and chaotic, some children even do not understand what it is all about, because they are too young for that. In my opinion, a child who looks absolutely gorgeous without fake teeth, spraytan and an enormous wig is forced to wear all of it just to measure up to her parent wishes.
The Olympic Games is an international multi-sport event subdivided into summer and winter games. The Olympic Games bring together thousands of the world's finest athletes to compete against one another. No other sports event attracts so much attention. Several million people attend the games, and hundreds of millions throughout the world watch them on television. The first recorded Olympic contest took place in the Stadium of Olympia in 776 BC. For many years the Olympics were for male contestants and for male spectators only. The only event in the first 13 Olympics was a footrace of about 180 meters. At the ancient Games, the winners were presented with a simple olive tree branch, which was cut with a gold-handled knife from a wild olive tree. At the modern Games, Olympic medals are presented to the winning athletes. The Olympic motto is Citius, Altius, Fortius, which means Faster, Higher, Braver. Summer Games are held in a major city, and the Winter Games in a winter resort. The

every spring. It took place in the Parrot's Garden and it was meant for only the most skilful archers. The competitors had to shoot down a wooden parrot, which was placed on top of a high pole. One year all the vying knights were all gathered at the shooting line, the parrot suddenly fell to the ground, pierced by an arrow. The sharpshooter turned out to be a poor boy called Toomas. The annoyed contestants told him to place the parrot back on the top of the pole. Everyone was impressed and the story about Toomas spread quickly. The major of Tallinn asked him to be the town-guard. It was a great honor for the young man and he proved his reliability several times in the battles of the Livonian war. At old age his looks were very similar to the man on the weather vane on top of the spire of the Tallinn's Town Hall, so the people started to call the vane Old Thomas.
Someone going to the dentist or waiting for a job interview might be seated on the edge of the chair with his or her feet together. If it's a woman she'll probably be hugging her handbag, or clutching a hanky. Body tension spreads to the respiratory system, forcing your breathing and making you sound short of breath. When you are in such a position it is easy to lose your head and simply run away if things take a turn for the worse. On television it's interesting to watch contestants in quiz shows like 'Who wants to be a millionaire'. You can detect their understandable tension from the way they hold their hands till their knuckles turn white and also from observing their quickened breathing. We do not believe that you can teach people to control their body language completely; they will lose control at some point or other - when they become too eager or too angry. Take a discussion between politicians, for example. The control is there, even when they get

underestimate the situational factors, it is called the fundamental attribution error. Psychologists argue that this error is so common because when people observe others' behavior and do not have enough information about them, they tend to attribute behavior to disposition. In a study by Ross et al., participants were given one of three roles: a game show host, contestant of the game show or member of the audience. The hosts were instructed to design their own questions for the contestants and then the audience watched the game show through the series of questions. After this, the observers were asked to rank the intelligence of the people in the show. They consistently ranked the host as most intelligent, even tough they knew that this person was randomly assigned and made up all the questions. The audience failed to attribute the role to the person's situation and instead attributed the person's performance to disposition. There are some concerns about the experiment
