Me, my dad and my cousins traditionally go hiking every summer. Last summer we decided to go through bogs of Lavassaare. As it was going to be a week-long tramp, we considered our equipment carefully. We made list of everything we needed and then crossed out all that wasn't absolutely nesseccery. We couldn't have better timing: it was clear and warm all week long and it was exact time for wild strawberries and blueberries. We enjoyed the nature and especially the bog lakes. We spent six days in bog and travelled 55 kilometers with this time. This may seem as a short distance, but in bog, where your every step sinks and bog lakes lie exacly on your way, it is pretty long.
STRANGE BRITISH TRADITIONS BOG SNORKELING The world's premier Bog Snorkeling event is held in August each year in Powys, Wales. The first World Bog Snorkeling Championship held in 1985. Basically participants dive into a bog, wearing goggles, a pair of flippers and a snorkel, they then proceed to race each other along a 120ft trench filled with mud. Goggles Kaitseprillid. Participants Osalejad. Bog Raba/soo. Flippers Ujumislestad. Snorkel Hingamistoru. Trench - Kraav PANCAKE RACING Olney's famous race is run every Shrove Tuesday, featuring women who have lived in the town for more than 6 months. It dates back to 1445 and it is believed all began with a townswoman late for the Shriving service at the Olney parish church. She heard the church bells ring out for the service and she fled her house fearful of being late. She ran the distance
tagavara on aga väiksemad kui männimetsal. The characteristic species in the ground cover are: bilberry, cowberry, Carex globularis, May lily, common cow-wheat, purple moor grass. The moss layer is vigorous and unbroken. Iseloomulikud liigid alustaimestikus on järgmised: mustikas, pohl, keratarn, leseleht, palu-härghein, sinihelmikas. Samblarinne on jõuline ja katkematu. (samblarinne on tüse ja lausaline) In addition to the ordinary species of forest mosses also patches of bog moss and hair moss can be found there. Lisaks tavalistele metsa samblaliikidele võib laiguti esineda ka turbasammalt ja karusammalt. The hair moss-bilberry subtype is widespread on gley and podzolic gley soils which are sod-podzolized and contain superfluous moisture.Karusambla-mustika osatüüpi on laialdaselt levinud glei- ja liigniisketel leetunud glei- ja leedegleimuldadel. The litter horizon is thick (8...15 centimetres) and of raw humus type (it has turned into peat)

Top Gear It all started when BBC presented us with an idea. Every one of us had to build a British motorhome of the future, which would be practical but still look cool. Three things the motorhome had to have were sleeping accommodation, cooking facilities and a bog. We met up at Fleet to take a look at each others brilliant come ups before the challanges. As usual I came in with quite an entrance. My motorhome was by far the tallest ever built. It had three stories and looked extremely cool. After walking Hammond through my surperb motorhome I couldn't help but laughing at his. It was a hidious Land Rover which appeared from far to be covered with bricks. The ,,stone effect" was in Richards mind the Land Rover style. It literally had a
It's 80 meters high, also higher than Niagra waterfall. Food & Drinks: Welsh food includes seafood, especially close to the coast, where fishing culture is strong. In left, we see Glamorgan sausage, which is traditional Welsh vegeterian sausage. The main ingredients are cheese (caerphilly cheese), leek and breadcrumbs. In right, we see monkfish. In Wales, cheese and whiskey is also important and food festivals are nearly every weekend. Sports: World Bog Snorkelling Championship takes place in Wales every August. Now it attras more than 200 entrants each year.

leave at all, which is the case with a growing number of once migratory species. Forest species contribute about a half of Estonian birds; in some types of forests, which have the most birds, there can be from 550 to 1700 breeding birds per sq km. Chaffinches and willow warblers are probably the most numerous birds in Estonia. Many typical tundra species, like the willow grouse and the black-throated diver, which were characteristic exhibits of Estonian bog wildlife, have disappeared as nesting birds during the last decades. Small islets, however, can really be called bird paradise. Undisturbed by man and protected from most smaller predators by the sea, they are real nesting sanctuaries for a diversity of gulls, terns, ducks and waders. Due to the vast preserved natural landscapes, large raptorial birds, such as the golden eagle and eagle owl have made Estonia their home.
Pärnu also offers great year-round opportunities for organizing meetings and conferences in addition to relaxation and treatments for restoring one's health. Tori is known for the Estonian Tori Horse, bred at a local stud farm founded in 1856. Tori Hell is a sandstone cave on the Pärnu River. Kurgja is the location of the Farm Museum of Carl Robert Jakobson, a leader of the national movement at the end of the 19th century. The Nigula Nature Reserve preserves the peat-bog ecosystem within its territory of 2771 hectares. Häädemeeste is one of the most important yacht-building centers in Estonia and also famous for its mineral water. The Island of Kihnu is the biggest island in the Gulf of Riga. There are some peculiarities in local dialect, dressing, folk songs and wedding customs. Saaremaa is the largest island in Estonia and is characterized by rare plants, windmills, thatched roofs, stone fenches and the hospitality of the local people

Osakond: Põllumajandus- ja keskkonnainstituut Juhendaja(d): Veljo Kimmel Kaitsmise kuupäev: 28.05.2015 The aim of this master thesis is to measure pine growth in bogs with different nutrient and pollution load: Puhatu, Kõrgesoo and Selisoo. Radial growth of trees were determined from 65 samples of pines sampled in 2009. Samples were measured on LINTAB instrument and TSAPWin program. Measured data were analysed in Excel and TSAPWin programs. Results show that yearly growth of bog pines was the biggest during 1960-1990 - clear agreement with earlier studies. During last decades the growth has dropped: in Kõrgesoo back to level of 60s, in Puhatu on slightly higher level. Thus, nice agreement with the use of oil shale - the main source of alkaline and nutrient-rich pollution in area is observable. Changes in growth rates were well correlated with the distance of bogs from power plants, age of trees and at Selisoo also with drainage activities

business as usual, the result may be an overlooking of the possibility that the problem may reside elsewhere, such as in the system, the structure or corporate culture. In which case, nothing is resolved, except cosmetic changes. In time the same problem or a similar one will reemerge, only to be temporarily suppressed. In the end, one is left with a lose-lose situation. The result of such reactive posture is institutional crisis and systemic bog-down, because the focus is on immediacy instead of long-term change. The opposite methodology is to view our experiences as challenges, based on Foresight Management as the style of leadership. Foresight Management is a proactive style of management that anticipates change by critically analyzing trends, on the assumption that nothing is constant, by putting into operation processes that turn potential problems into challenging opportunities. The focus is thus on a Change-Anticipating approach
