Käsitletav artikkel uurib Ameerikas ja Suurbritannias töötavate immigrantide ja kohalike elanike sissetulekuid. Autor on püstitanud hüpoteesi, et on olemas seos inimese pikkuse ja võimekuse vahel. Töös võrreldakse immigrantide ja residentide füüsilise pikkuse ja palga vahelist seost. Toetudes empiirilistele andmetele, leitakse, et immigrantide puhul on pikkuse- palga seos kaks korda kõrgem kui residentide puhul. Sellega püstitatakse uurimisküsimus, et kas tegu on immigrantide diskrimineerimisega.
