Surprise I felt so excited when I looked at the envelope. Because it was adressed to me and I hadn`t got any letters for a long time. I had just found it when I came to the kitchen. It was afternoon and I arrived from school. I hadn`t been expecting that kind of surprise at all. There was a name and an address on the other side, which I didn`t recognize. In addition, it seemed a bit weird that the envelope was on the floor, next to the table, but on second thought it could have been there by accident. So now I went upstairs, to my room and sat on the armchair. I sat there for a moment, holding the letter on my lap and looking out the window to let the curiousity grow. Than I prepared to tear it open, but some noise from downstairs interrupted me. I sat still and listened for a minute, it was quiet again. As I laid my eyes on the envelope again the same sound, only louder, interrupte...

At first, Elizabeth insisted that the funeral must be private. Eventually she changed her mind and she agreed to bring Diana´s body back to England. In London, flowers were piled in front of Buckingham Palace. There was a sea of flower and wreaths. What I liked about the film was that the scenery was based on real-life. One of the most memorable scene was when the Queen Elizabeth talked about Diana in television. At that moment I held my breath because I was really thrilled about how she could handle this. When Elizabeth talked about Diana there were tears in her eyes. That showed that we are all only humans and we all have feelings- including the Queen. For me the first part of the film wasn´t interesting but despite that I liked the ending. Also I liked the atmosphere in UK when their princess had died. It was phenomenal to see that all the people in England kept together like one big family. There were also some things that I didn´t liked about the film

terrifying and that also symbolised how the boys had become savages already. Without noticing the natural cruelty inside them developed, savagery instincts emerged and most of them stopped caring about civilisation. The reason why the characters in the novel turned from decent British boys into small savages is hidden in human nature. All the boys were used to have grown-ups around and then they were suddenly thrown into a situation where there were non. At first they were thrilled with happiness but like usually when children are left alone in the dark they start to fear and that happened to these boys also. First ones who began to feel terror and saw nightmares were the little ones but gradually all the boys felt fear. When they were all scared of the beast, the survival instinct started to play a role in boys life and that was probably one of the reasons why boys turned into savages . The other cause would be the fact that there is an evil side in every person

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/27/health/re search/27eye.html? pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=technology A Burst of Technology, Helping the Blind to See Blindness first began creeping up on Barbara Campbell when she was a teenager, and by her late 30s, her eye disease had stolen what was left of her sight. Reliant on a talking computer for reading and a cane for navigating New York City, where she lives and works, Ms. Campbell, now 56, would have been thrilled to see something. Anything. Now, as part of a striking experiment, she can. So far, she can detect burners on her stove when making a grilled cheese, her mirror frame, and whether her computer monitor is on. She is beginning an intensive three-year research project involving electrodes surgically implanted in her eye, a camera on the bridge of her nose and a video processor strapped to her waist. The project, involving patients in the United States, Mexico and Europe, is part of a burst of

to the door. In their conversation everything had been said; it had been said that she loved him, and that she would tell her father and mother that he would come tomorrow morning." This is an example of the fact that Levin and Kitty relate to each other on a subconscious, intuitive level. They equal harmony, the kind Levin has always been searching for. The same could hardly be said of Anna and Vronsky. Levin finally asks publicly for Kitty to be his wife, and her parents are thrilled. He apologizes to her that he is not a virgin. She forgives him. Chapters 16-23 Karenin gets word that Anna is dying. Through a telegram, she asks him to come see her. At first, he doesn't believe she can be dying. After all, she has lied a thousand times. Still, he needs to see her. Once he gets there, he meets Anna's new illegitimate daughter and finds Anna herself suffering from a high fever. She begs Karenin to forgive her and Vronsky. Karenin does so
I usually cried when I was angry, a humiliating tendency. "Aren't you Isabella Swan?" a male voice asked. I looked up to see a cute, baby-faced boy, his pale blond hair carefully gelled into orderly spikes, smiling at me in a friendly way. He obviously didn't think I smelled bad. "Bella," I corrected him, with a smile. "I'm Mike." "Hi, Mike." "Do you need any help finding your next class?" "I'm headed to the gym, actually. I think I can find it." "That's my next class, too." He seemed thrilled, though it wasn't that big of a coincidence in a school this small. We walked to class together; he was a chatterer -- he supplied most of the conversation, which made it easy for me. He'd lived in California till he was ten, so he knew how I felt about the sun. It turned out he was in my English class also. He was the nicest person I'd met today. But as we were entering the gym, he asked, "So, did you stab Edward Cullen with a pencil or what? I've never seen him act like that." I cringed
"You have any go-sees tomorrow?" "Of course." Cary launched into the details of his schedule, mentioning a jeans advertisement, self-tanner, underwear, and cologne. I shoved everything else out of my mind and focused on him and his growing success. The demand for Cary Taylor was increasing by the day, and he was building a reputation with photographers and accounts for being both professional and prompt. I was thrilled for him and so proud. He'd come a long way and been through so much. It wasn't until after dinner that I noticed the two large gift boxes propped against the side of the sectional sofa. "What are those?" "Those," Cary said, joining me in the living room, "are the ultimate." I knew immediately they were from Stanton and my mom. Money was something my mother needed to be happy and I was glad Stanton, husband #3, was not only able to fill that need for her
When a day later it dawned on the jeweler what had happened, he called his friend and asked him to corpe back to the store because he had another necklace to show him. This time, he introduced the new piece at its regular $500 price. His friend liked it enough to buy it on the spot. But before any money was exchanged, the jeweler told him that, as a wedding gift, he would drop the price to $250. The man was thrilled. Now, rather than finding the $'50 sales price offensive, he was overjoyed-and grateful-to have it. Authors note: Notice that, as in the case of the turquoise jewelry buyers, it was someone who wanted to be assured of good merchandise who disdained the low-priced item. I'm confident that besides the "expensive = good" rule, there's a flip side, "inexgensive _ bad" rule that applies to our thinking as well

football team, and though only an average student, he had a flair for mathematics. From 16 on he frequented the poker tables of the local saloons, learning the game that was to be a passion of his life. He had wanted to become a criminal I lawyer, but instead landed at 23 as a $900-a-year code clerk in the State Department. It was a case of purest serendipity, for the man and the subject were ideally matched. His romantic mind thrilled to the stream of history that daily poured through his hands in the form of ambassadorial dispatches, and cryp-tology fired his imagination. He had heard vague tales of cryptanalysts who could pry into secrets of state, and when a 500-word message from Colonel House passed over the wires to President Wilson one night, Yardley, with characteristic audacity, determined to see whether he could solve what must be the most difficult of American codes
