" Yesterday, the five plus one more, an artist's assistant and friend of a friend of Ms. Berger's, signed a lease on a spic-and-span house with a stupendous backyard in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens section of Brooklyn. "The core of what we wanted was the same," Ms. Berger said happily. "The fact that we wanted to live together kind of trumped all the other stuff." The house, however, comes with a basement apartment that still needs to be rented. Any takers? 4

into two sides, but did not break the unity of the whole picture. Aside from Bailly, other important delegates like abbe Gregoire, dom Gerle and Rabaut Saint-Etienne, were located centrally and made identifiable. Around the table representatives of Protestantism, regular clergy and secular clergy were all together without special division. This shows how the Revolution makes everybody equal and unifies even opposite sides. Moreover, above the oath takers some soldiers watch upon the activities ready to disband the whole Parliament and outside the windows there is lightning that struck to the royal cathedral symbolizing the soon fall of the king. (Roberts, 1989, p.53) During the bloodiest year of the French Revolution, 1793, David was offered to paint three depictions of Revolution martyrs, who were assassinated for being Republican. With the three portrays and mainly with the first two, David had the opportunity to encourage citizens to be

Korean or an Arab moves into the same exact spot. Before you can say Jack Daniels, we are flocking to the store and before you know it, the owner is thriving, taking our money and reinvesting it in his own community. You must understand that the same amount of time it takes to start a small venture might be the same amount of time or even less than it takes in starting a major one. We must be risk takers rather than risk-averters. A financial genius conducted an experiment with a group of men. He told them that he had a $1 on one hand and $15,000 on the other hand. They could choose to take $15,000 now or the $1 in 20 years. Everybody of course chose the $15,000. After they had made their selection, the financial guru showed them how the $1 invested in compounded interest could have yielded about $690,000 at the end of the 20 years. hile waiting to board a flight at O'Hare, I heard a desk agent announce W that the flight was overbooked and that, if passengers were willing to take a later plane, they would be compensated with a voucher worth $1O,000! Of course, this exaggerated amount was a joke. It was supposed to make peo- ple laugh. It did. But I noticed that when he then revealed the actual offer (a $200 voucher), there were no takers. In fact, he had to raise the offer twice, to $300 and then $500, before he got any volunteers. I was reading your book at the time, and I realized that, although he got his laugh, according to the contrast principle, he screwed up. He'd arranged things so that compared to $10,000, a couple hundred bucks seemed like a pittance. That was an expensive laugh. It cost his airline an extra $300 per volunteer.
