Alustades täitsa algusest, pealkirjast sõna purge ehk puhastus, sügav puhastus, meenutab sõna purgatory, purgatoorium. Puhastustuli on inglise keeles selgelt hinge süvapuhastuse maitsega, mittekehaline. Sõna purge on terves raamatus kasutatud vaid korra kui Aliide naaseb oma esimeselt keldrisse sattumiselt ning puhastab oma nägu. Ilmselgelt kõlab sel hetkel purge lauses pisut kohatult, ent arusaadavalt kasutada teda oli vaja. Samas kujutan ette, et eesti keeles puhastatakse raamatus pidevalt midagi või kedagi küll kööki, küll
