that they actually provide support to the little ones who would not be able to survive without them. In case one of these small countries succeeds in gaining independence, the fear of possible occupation in future still remains. As for the problems of integration of the Russian community in the Republic of Estonia, it is very likely that the xenophobia of the local population has brought about the development of the closed Russian community. Clearly, it is a most paradoxical situation: on the one hand, xenophobia has helped us to preserve our culture and nation. On the other hand, xenophobia is by far not compatible with the contemporary ideas of a modern society. Unfortunately, the phobias and prejudices that have developed during the past centuries are hard to get over. What would be the possible ways of getting rid of the phobias and intolerance that we suffer from? In my opinion, the key to success lies in education.

ease, and without any sense of guilt tempts us to believe, that his offer is untrustworthy and insincere. Actually, an attempt to apply such an absurd proposal in practice was not originally considered by the author; it is more likely a hidden satire, which is intended to draw the attention of the authorities to what is happening in the country. Alongside with the exquisite use of satire and cynicism the reader can also trace the paradoxical nature of the Swift's work. The fact that an Englishman proposes barbarous prescriptions for the Irish ridicules the highly civilized society of England. By calculating the number of children, who can become a "delicacy" for the nobility and talking that child's skin would make "admirable gloves for ladies" and "summer boots for fine gentlemen", Swift indirectly comes to the severe criticism of the ruling class. The words "admirable" and "fine", he thus uses, put even more emphasis on his

All you have to do is try going from topic to topic and write around three to five items for each question or topic then move on to the next one. You can skip any topic you want to, there is no compulsion. The whole point of this exercise is to generate a mass of information that will help you in selecting your topic for the essay. acceleration of that process which is brought about by the fact that you suffer consciously. You can accept suffering for yourself, or you can accept it for someone else, such as your child or parent. In the midst of conscious suffering, there is already the transmutation. The fire of suffering becomes the light of consciousness. The ego says, “I shouldn't have to suffer,” and that thought makes you suffer so much more. It is a distortion of the truth, which is always paradoxical. The truth is that you need to say yes to suffering before you can transcend it. CONSCIOUS PARENTING Many children harbor hidden anger and resentment toward their parents and often the cause is inauthenticity in the relationship. The child has a deep longing for the parent to be there as a human being, not as a role, no matter how conscientiously that role is being played. you may be doing all the right things and the best you can for your child, but even doing the

film directors. But most of the films of the time were failures. Soviet Estonia was exhibited like a fashion show… sharp social problems were touched, but the authors confined themselves to just registering them.1 The same difficulties were likewise present in symphonic music, as Ofelia Tuisk observed: Why are the powerful dreams, passionate yearning, profound sorrow, seething joy and nature- intoxicated lyrics absent from our symphonic music? Is it not paradoxical that just in our sharp and conflicting times and even more, in the Soviet state, a composer is preferring the Glazunov- like smooth and non-contradictory symphonism instead of the struggling, conflicting symphonism of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky.2 Ten years after the decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (1948) that had hindered the free and natural development of all the arts, the policy was

the keys for nine out of ten days. The cryptanalysts still had to solve for the first day's key by straightforward analysis, but this task and its delays were eliminated for the rest of the period. Furthermore, knowledge of the shuffles enabled the codebreakers to read all the traffic of a period even though they could solve only one of the daily keys. This fine piece of work, on the shoulders of the tremendous initial Friedman-S.I.S. effort, resulted in the paradoxical situation of Americans reading the most difficult Japanese diplomatic system more quickly and easily than some lower-grade systems. They also became very facile in reading two-step systems in which PURPLE superenciphered an already coded message. The Japanese did this from time to time to provide extra security, usually with the CA code, the personal code of an ambassador or head of mission. A year after S.I.S. handed in its first PURPLE solution, the
