My local supermarket

My local supermarket

The best thing ever about the area and the people is that most of them are actually really talkative and every time I go there, I always meet someone new. The smell in the supermarket is quite neutral, it is nothing special because it surely does not have the aroma of an outside market in the summer. The inside of the building is quite beat down as well but all the groceries are there and easy to find. I would definitely recommend it because if you want to feel nostalgic about the 80's or 90's, then that is the place to go. I will be going to go there every weekend like I have done so far because it makes me nostalgic about my childhood when I used to go buy candy with my friend every day.

10 päeva päevik

It's four days of being at school with funny clothes that older students tell you to wear. On first day I was dressed up like Superman .I was wearing a red cape, shorts and tight swimming pants. It was pretty embarrassing and uncomfortable but compared to Tuesday it was nothing. On Tuesday I had to wear a skirt and a mini top. Well that made me feel very uncomfortable. I was looking forward to the end of that day. On Wednesday I had to wear nostalgic suit. This event game me awesome experience and an unforgettable memorial. 20 October More depression in my life .I was feeling very lonely and sad that day. All my friends were drinking somewhere and I was at home feeling sulky. Sad times come to me from time to time when you don't have anyone supporting you. You just have to try find yourself activity that lets you forget bad things and memorials. I'm not trying to get help from alcohol

American Art Revision Materials

Preston Dickinson. American Scene. Between the wars, American artists focused more on a style that would express political, cultural and social problems. This art form is socially conscious. It grew from the tradition of Realism and revived it. The American scene was interpreted as a way of life and the cities were communicated through gloomy endurance. It also expressed an emotional reaction to the effects of the Great Depression. American Scene painting was cheerless, romantically nostalgic and grotesque. The pictures are laden with shadows and the oppressive atmosphere of desolation. The subjects concerned landscape, architecture and urban scenes. The "Regionalists" displayed false optimism and tried to rejuvenate the values of the heartland of the Mid-West. Their pictures were an art of the country (hillbillies, folksingers, farms etc.). There is marked influence of xenophobia and Puritanic elements. Exemplary artist. Edward Hopper (early-C20). He focused on large cities

Others include Nikolay Nosov with his books about dwarf Neznayka, Evgeny Veltistov, who wrote about robot boy Electronic, Vitaly Melentyev, Vladislav Krapivin, Vitaly Gubarev. Mystery was another popular genre. Detectives by brothers Arkady and Georgy Vayner and spy novels by Yulian Semyonov were best-selling, and many of them were adapted into film or TV in the 1970s and 1980s. Village prose is a genre that conveys nostalgic descriptions of rural life. Valentin Rasputin's 1976 novel, Proshchaniye s Matyoroy (Farewell to Matyora) depicted a village faced with destruction to make room for a hydroelectric plant. Historical fiction in the early Soviet era included a large share of memoirs, fictionalized or not. Valentin Katayev and Lev Kassil wrote semi-autobiographic books about children's life in Tsarist Russia. Vladimir Gilyarovsky wrote Moscow and Muscovites, about life in pre- revolutionary Moscow

After moving to his native New York to write freelance, his novel Gabriel Conroy (1876) and his collaboration with Mark Twain on the play Ah Sin (1878) proved unsuccessful in providing adequate income for the Harte family. He and Twain quarrelled bitterly amid rumours of his belligerence, spendthrift habits, drinking, and womanising which would haunt him for years to come. Harte had mastered the genre of gold rush fiction, capturing the corruption and greed in nostalgic prose, with vivid descriptions of the myriad characters he had known and the wild new frontier lands he had traversed. However he would never quite maintain the impetus of his first published successes. His financial stresses took a turn for the better when in 1878 he was recommended and duly appointed to the United States Consul, first in Crefeld, Germany, then Glasgow, Scotland until 1885. The strain was still

(1893-1945); all German officers and the Estonian Local Government, headed by Dr. Hjalmar Mäe (1901-1978) were subordinated to him. Literary life became quite discreet. The poetry collection Mureliku suuga (With Troubled Mouth, 1942) by Marie Under deeply reflects the hard times. In the arts, life proceeded relatively vivaciously: many exhibitions; German officers and Estonians were consumers of art production, which had retained republican traditions gaining both aesthetic and nostalgic meaning. The musical life in Tallinn was quite lively. During the 1943-1944 season ten symphony concerts, thirteen special concerts and some chamber music evenings took place. It lasted until the spring of 1944 when the Soviet Air Force bombed all the major towns of Estonia. The Estonia Theatre in Tallinn and Tartu’s Vanemuine Theatre were destroyed. 1 Vares, under investigation by the Soviet NKVD for his activities in the Estonian War of Independence,
