Bans on imports can count as quantitative restrictions. (See cases of Commission v. Italy (Re Ban on Pork Imports) (case 7/61)) and (R. v. Henn (Ban on import of pornographic materials) (case 34/79)). It also includes quota systems. (See case Salgoil SpA v. Italian Ministry for Foreign Trade (case 13/68)). Even a quota system applying to a small part of the country counts as a quantitative restriction. (See the Ditlev Bluhme case (Danish Brown bees) (case C-67/97)). Forcing importers to have licences is also an example of a quantitative restriction. Although the courts have sometimes decided that it is a measure equivalent to a quantitative restriction (MEQR). (As they did in the case of International Fruit Co NV v Produktschap voor Groenten en Fruit (cases 51-4/71). Directive 70/50 highlighted how QR's and MEQR's did not have to be legally binding. steadily refused to follow in the footsteps of Guinness. In fact, I had been reliably informed that Heineken felt that they didn’t have to advertise to the African community for their beer to be continued to be consumed. As a Capitalist Nigger, I decided that Heineken would not be allowed to get away with disrespecting our community and not giving back to the community which was giving so much to the company here in America. I sent a letter to the Heineken U.S.A. importers, in which I told them that maybe they were not interested in the over 3 million cases of Heineken beer that Africans consume in America, in which case I will have to start informing the community. Needless to say that Heineken U.S.A. importers started advertising in the African Sun Times, starting from July 1999. Of course, that is not the only way my life has been affected by Capitalist Niggerism. Through the
Belarusian legal entities are currently required to convert 30% of their foreign currency export revenue into Belarusian rubles by selling through authorized banks within seven working days of receipt. Payments for imports Please note that the NBRB currently prohibits advance payments under foreign economic contracts involving import transactions. This prohibition applies to Belarusian rubles as well as to foreign currency. An exception is made for importers acquiring raw materials under the terms of an advance payment for the further production of export-oriented goods. Advance payments made to a non-resident from a Belarusian bank account may only be performed if the importer has permission from the NBRB. In order to obtain permission from the NBRB, an importer should submit an application form from the Belarusian Council of Ministers and a copy of the foreign trade contract. The NBRB is entitled to request additional
The capture of foreign lands was important for Europe’s economic development. In the late seventeenth century Britain had a smaller empire abroad than either Spain or Holland. But it had greater variety. On the east coast of North America, Britain controlled twelve colonies. Of far greater interest were the new possessions in the West Indies, where sugar was grown. The growing sugar economy of the West Indies 78 increased the demand for slaves. The sugar importers used their great influence to make sure that the government did not stop slavery7. British overseas trade expanded. British colonies provided a market for goods from home. Tropical products from the colonies, such as cotton, sugar and tobacco, were sold profitably in Europe after being processed in Britain. Britain gained the monopoly of selling black slaves to Spanish colonies. The British government had long been planning to take over as many as possible
