During the festival the Old Town of Tartu is divided into three areas, each representing a different historical era. Most of the events take place in Jaani town which takes people back into the hanseatic times. The streets are filled with stalls where artisans are selling their products and there are also many different activities for children and adults. The River town is all about ancient times. There are blacksmiths demonstrating their job and healers selling different herbs. In Rae town people can get back to the modern days and relax in a restaurant, watch different dance and music performances or go shopping in the large marketplace. All in all the Hanseatic Days are a nice tradition and have something for everyone.

Very little is known about the ancient druids because they left no written accounts about themselves. They were healers, teachers etc. Celtic language There are actualle many Celtic languages.( there were many Celtic tribes and every tribe had a litte bit different language). Celtic languages are also spoken in todays Europe (Welsh,Cornish etc). Celtic warfare Celts loved ware. They fought very often with eachother and with strangers. They fought naked(painted in blue). Witches as healers The witch is accused not only of murdering and poisoning, sex crimes and conspiracy but of helping and healing. Witch-healers were often the only general medical practioners for peole who had no doctors and no hospitals and who were bitterly afflicted with poverty and disease. The surrendered state of consciousness opens up the vertical dimension in your life, the dimension of depth. Something will then come forth from that dimension into this world, something of infinite value that otherwise would have remained unmanifested. Some people who surrendered to severe limitation become healers or spiritual teachers. Others work selflessly to lessen human suffering or bring some creative gift into this world. In the late seventies, I would have lunch every day with one or two friends in the cafeteria of the graduate center at Cambridge University, where I was studying. Like writers, they are special peo ple set apart from the rest by their dreams, visions, or unique experiences. Shamans, like many writers, are prepared for their work by enduring terrible ordeals. T h e y may have a dangerous illness or fall from a cliff and have nearly every bone broken. T h e y are chewed by a lion or mauled by a bear. T h e y are taken apart and put back together again in a new way
