Creating objects with the Shape Tools Often when you’re creating images in illustraator it’s easy to start off by using primitiive shapes. I want you to select the Elipse tool first. We’ll select the Elipse tool and we’re going to draw a circle. Now if I place the cursor over the center here and start to draw you’ll see that the elipse comes out from the center diagonally and I can make it long and slim, or short and fat, or the opposite. And if I hold down SHIFT as I’m drawing it will constrain it to create a perfect circle. Now if I hold down ALT while I’m drawing it will start to draw from the center and thats a keyboard shortcut that I like to use just to draw from the center of my Document. Now while I’m drawig I can also hold down Space Bar and that allows me to move it slightly into position. Now I’m going to fill it with black.
Then, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool for Pasta types Long form pasta or strand pasta: It appears spaghetti-like and can be twisted around the fork. island: In OE, the word for “island” was iegland or igand which ordinarily would have become iland in modern English. But then the word isle came into English from Old French which got it from Latin insula. The OE word can also be traced back to the language of the Romans, but the Latin word it’s related to is aqua, “water. kitty-corner: the expression began as “cater-corner.” Cater was an English dialect word meaning “to set or move diagonally.” Cater is itself a folk etymology of the French word quatre, “four.” chaise lounge: The French expression chaise longue means “long chair.” To many unobservant readers the word longue computes to lounge. Hey, that makes sense. One lounges in a chair that lets you put your feet up. Now many lawn furniture departments advertise “chaise lounges.” 16. crosses were officially recognised in order to reflect the preceding political events. After the union with Ireland in 1800 the final design of the Union Jack, where the Cross of St. Patrick was counter-charged (counterbalanced) with the Scottish Saltire, was adopted on 1 January 1801. To preserve the former cross flags and to manage the incorporation of St. Patrick's Cross (red diagonal cross on white), the heraldic advisers to the King suggested that St Andrew's Cross should be divided diagonally and red appear below and above the white (on the hoist half of the fly and above on its fly half). In accordance with heraldic law the red cross may not border the blue background, so a white narrow border, or fimbrication, was added in between. This also held for the centre where a white border separated the crosses of St. Patrick and St. George. The Union Jack has remained unchanged ever since. By an Order in Council of 9 July 1864 the present official system of flags was confirmed

with his netbook, looking fresh and alert. Smelling coffee in the kitchen, I headed there and filled the biggest mug I could find. "Morning, sunshine," Cary called out. With my much-needed dose of caffeine wrapped between both palms, I joined him on the couch. He pointed at a box on the end table. "That came for you while you were in the shower." I set my mug on the coffee table and picked up the box. It was wrapped with brown paper and twine, and had my name handwritten diagonally across the top with a decorative calligraphic flourish. Inside was an amber glass bottle with Hangover Cure painted on it in a white old-fashioned font and a note tied with raffia to the bottle's neck that said, "Drink me." Gideon's business card was nestled in the cushioning tissue paper. As I studied the gift, I found it very apt. Since meeting Gideon I'd felt like I'd fallen down the rabbit hole into a fascinating and seductive world where few of the known rules applied. I was in
to a round tip. The sturdy legs are short to medium-long with large firm paws. The head is rounded, but is longer than it is broad with medium-long and sloping nose with slight stop (a pronounced stop is a fault). Strong chin and cheeks, the latter suggesting the Nordic race of European Wildcat (F silvestris silvestris). Ears are small to medium size, upright and broad at the base with a rounded point. Eyes are round to oval, large and slightly diagonally set; the colour relates to the fur colour/pattern (or to predominant colour in parti-colour cats). The coat is medium long at the shoulders and shorter on the head. It is longer on the flanks, back and belly and is particularly long at the ruff, hind legs (britches) and tail. However the fur is easy-maintenance, shining and not as woolly as the Persian. All colours are accepted except chocolate, cinnamon and their dilutes lilac and fawn (in both solids and in patterned cats)
pendently existing forms of behavior," whereas constitutive rules "create or define new forms of behavior" (1969, p. 33). Thus, for example, rules of eti- quette regulate activities or practices that exist quite independently of those rules: "Officers must wear ties at dinner"; "Never chew with your mouth open." But the rules of chess or of American football actually define the game in question, and the game as such would not exist without them: "Bishops move only diagonally"; "A touchdown is scored when a player has possession of the ball in the opponents' end zone while a play is in progress." We may introduce a more demanding and more interesting notion: A strongly constitutive rule is a rule whose violation aborts the purported speech act. Suppose I utter a sentence with the intention of performing a certain type of speech act, A. If I violate a strongly constitutive rule, it follows that I have simply failed to perform an act of type A
five matchsticks tipped with a grayish substance that served as a ready- made pen-and-secret-ink. The trick in concocting a good secret ink is to find a substance that will react with the fewest possible chemicals— only one, if possible, thus resulting in what is called a highly "specific" ink. To test for secret inks, censorship stations "striped" letters. The laboratory assistant drew several brushes, all wired together in a holder and each dipped in a different developer, diagonally across the suspected documents. The developers were wide-spectrum, picking up even such substances as body oils, so that fingerprints and sweat drops often showed up. On the other hand, they missed some specific inks. A bleaching bath removed the stripes. Letters were also checked by infrared and ultraviolet light. Writing in starch, invisible in daylight or under electric light, will fluoresce under ultraviolet. Infrared can
