UNDP: 1999 [http//www.wider.unu.edu/ wiid/download.htm] Summary RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INCOME DISTRIBUTION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Helje Kaldaru University of Tartu The purpose of this article is to investigate the income distribution in Estonia in comparison with other transition economies and the countries of European Union, to find out analogies and differences. The problem has both economic and political aspects. From the economic point of view, the question of making the distribution of income more equal or not, will arise. In order to join with EU, Estonia has to build up a social system acceptable for it. In countries with a higher development level, the income distribution is relatively durable, but transition economies are characterized by a convergence. The distribution in Estonia

Chad is an incredible teacher, gifted with analogies, but I was distracted in our session by something he mentioned in passing. He'd recently lost 70+ pounds in less than 12 months. It wasn't the amount of weight that I found fascinating. It was the timing. He'd been obese for more than a decade, and the change seemed to come out of nowhere.
