Some people say that popular British-American traditions are destroying Estonian culture

Some people say that popular British-American traditions are destroying Estonian culture Always people have been interested about different cultures and I think, it's normal and good because it shows people want to know new things, improve their skills and widen their horizon. I chose this topic because I mostly agree with this. First either way is Estonian culture a mix of different cultures. Different countries like Germany and Russia have influenced our cultur e. For example Seto people have polyphonic folk music because of Russia, rest of Estonia don't have it. Secondly I think nowadays it's normal that people take over some things in different cultures because we have globalization

well as there are books that are considered as true gems which contain knowledge and a great story and the importance of these books is immeasurable. Considering the fact that people in the future will be even lazier than they are now shows that the books will stay on the bookshelves or will be burned but I think that they will be converted into digital ones and will remain forever. In conclusion I think that people must read books to widen their horizon but the lack of free time will force the books to be just as decorative belongings.

How to Make Tourism in Tallinn Profitable

How to Make Tourism in Tallinn Profitable Nowadays tourism is one of the world`s largest industries. In Estonia it is also developed really largely. First of all, the main what attracts people abroad are journeys. People want to widen their outlook. Tallinn is the right place for tourists who want to get know about the medieval life in Europe. Here are such attractions as the Medieval Old Town, Kadriorg Park and Rusalka monument. These are the main places people usually want to visit. So, we must develop our tourism system. For example, make up some journey programmes with elements of the Estonian tales. That certainly attracts much more tourists in Tallinn.

Tolerance and diversity

not all of them are Estonians. Beside us consider Estonia as their home: Russians, Ukranians, Belorussian, Jews, Tatars, Germans and Poles - among of many others. They all have chosen to live here and they want to be taken as a part of our nationality. They want to be accepted and esposed. I can't understand people who can't be tolerate. I think it would be absolutely dreadful if all the people were just the same. We wouldn't have anything to learn or we couldn't widen our world-view. We would be monolingual and look all the same. We would just be one dreary crowd. Our heritage makes us all special and unique and we all should accept that. I understand that every human being has it's own beliefs and preferences, but it doesn't mean that we have to put off others. In my opinion tolerance is acquirement to leave people some breathing space. We should keep our bad thoughts under our hat and avoid sorely casted aspersions, even if we're angry

Global Warming

The effects of a warmer climate may begin to take its toll on people as well. Particularly those who are physically weaker are going to have a harsh life. During the hot summer of 1995, the frightening effects of high temperatures were felt in Chicago, when 700 people died as a result of heat-related problems. Air quality in many parts of the country is already considered unhealthy. With global warming adding to it, it's only going to get worse and worse. Furthermore, warmer temperatures would widen the range of disease carried by rodents and mosquitoes. This increase of temperatures is happening at a pace that outstrips anything the Earth has seen in the past 100 million years. We have caused all of this over many years of over industrialization in this growing world. Many different things cause the greenhouse effect. The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing because of the massive consumption of fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and natural gas

Tallinn Lillekyla Gymnasium Report Legends of Tallinn Tallinn 2009 Introduction I chose the topic ,,Legends of Tallinn", because I had heard some splendid myths about Tallinn from my history lessons and I was eager to widen my horizon. I am quite interested in history in general and I especially love tales about medieval Tallinn. I hope that I will find out some entertaining stories to tell my friends. Legends of Tallinn There are many interesting legends about buildings or sights in Tallinn. Nobody can tell, if they are all true or not, but at least they make the medieval capital much more intriguing and

"Anna Karenina" kokkuvõte

Stiva also comes to the country bearing news of Kitty, about whom Levin has been trying not to think. Stiva informs the countryman that the love of his life never ended up with the count. Levin and Stiva continue on to argue over Vronsky's place in society, and what, in general, is the aristocracy. The two male characters have extremely dissenting opinions--Stiva speaks positively about the aristocrats while Levin criticizes. The differences between the two widen. Chapters 17-25 Anna realizes she is pregnant with Vronsky's baby, and she informs Vronsky of this. In another climactic event, Vronsky loses a horserace he is slated to win. Vronsky loses the race because he is distracted by his relationship with Anna, especially because his brother and mother very much disapprove of the affair. His mother thinks he is becoming too dangerously preoccupied with a married woman. Further, Vronsky is becoming frustrated at having to hide his life with Anna

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

Estonia, I consider it an urgent need to start a fixed cultural political foreign orientation to get rid of German and Russian sterility… I hope that in the future there will be fruitful stimulation to our spiritual life (and that includes naturally political thinking), especially to our literature, from the rich and healthy spiritual world of England and France. 1 The theatre also attempted to widen national identity. Mare ja ta poeg (Mare and Her Son, 1935) by Aino Kallas, referring to events of the St. George’s Night Uprising; Lipud tormis (Flags in the Storm, 1937) by Hugo Raudsepp, Nimed marmortahvlil (Names in Marble, 1939) by Albert Kivikas2, both based on the War of Independence and its consequences. In a lighter vein, the witty allegorical play Kuningal on külm (The King Feels a Chill, 1936) by Anton Hansen Tammsaare

Charlie had been... difficult since my return to Forks. He had compartmentalized my bad experience into two defined reactions. Toward Carlisle he was almost worshipfully grateful. On the other hand, he was stubbornly convinced that Edward was at fault -- because, if not for him, I wouldn't have left home in the first place. And Edward was far from disagreeing with him. These days I had rules that hadn't existed before: curfews... visiting hours. Something Charlie was saying made Edward's eyes widen in disbelief, and then a grin spread across his face. "You're kidding!" He laughed. "What is it?" I demanded. He ignored me. "Why don't you let me talk to him?" Edward suggested with evident pleasure. He waited for a few seconds. "Hello, Tyler, this is Edward Cullen." His voice was very friendly, on the surface. I knew it well enough to catch the soft edge of menace. What was Tyler doing at my house? The awful truth began to dawn on me
