Murest murtud ja õnnetusest räsitud Rembrandt suri 4. oktoobril. Tema hingepalvus leidis aset 8. Oktoobril Wester Kerkis, kuhu ta maeti oma poja kõrvale (Ricketts 2006: 107-108).
