Homereading - body language

well as between cultural groups. For example, in Greece, you nod your head for 'no', and shake your head for 'yes'. The human brain communicates to the body how it is to position itself. Body language is subconscious and is intended to create a balance between inner feelings and outer appearance. If we develop increased sensitivity to our own body language, our ability to read others' body language is increased. This makes it easier to tell whether a person you are talking to is happy, sad, sullen or irritated. Or whether he or she is lying to you, or is impatient, or bored. You should also be able to register whether the person appears to like you, agrees or disagrees with you, is aggressive to you, or is suspicious, angry or worried. Observing hidden feelings Increased attention to body language will allow you to observe hidden feelings, prejudices and sexual intentions; all through your eyes and the other senses we use to perceive the world around us.

A New Earth

Shouting, screaming, pandemonium. A little later a policeman arrived, the man became quiet, was asked to leave and not return. The waitress fortunately was not hurt, except for bruises on her legs. When it was all over, the manager came to my table and asked me, half joking but perhaps feeling intuitively that there was some connection, “Did you cause all this?” THE PAIN-BODY IN CHILDREN Children's pain-bodies sometimes manifest as moodiness or withdrawal. The child becomes sullen, refuses to interact, and may sit in a corner, hugging a doll or sucking a thumb. They can also manifest as weeping fits or temper tantrums. The child screams, may throw him or herself on the floor, or become destructive. Thwarted wanting can easily trigger the pain-body, and in a developing ego, the force of wanting can be intense. Parents may watch helplessly in incomprehension and disbelief as their little angel becomes transformed within a few seconds into a little monster

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

2 The leading idea is impetuously and lively dramatic. At the very beginning, the strings expose the main theme that is the essential subject in the whole work, bearing and characterising the following motion: Example 154. 1 Kuus Eesti tänase muusika loojat. Tallinn, Eesti Raamat 1970, p. 29. 2 First performed by ERSO, 23 Apr. 1969, conducted by Roman Matsov. Abundant chromatics, short intervals and changing metre create inner tension, adding a somewhat sullen mood. The subsidiary theme: Example 155. The first movement resembles an exposition of basic materials. Everything proceeds as if in one breath. The wholly modern mood of emotion is sober. The music of the second movement is self-absorbed. A wistful motif from the oboe bears the following: Example 156. In the recapitulation this calm and clarified motif has been exposed, the “lulling” rhythm and silent static strings create an impression of a lullaby
