experiment with connection, we get that the nominal current is 0.75A without boosting and 0.8A with boosting and that the maximal current is 2.6A without boosting and 2.8 with boosting. The differences in experimental data come from using a lower frequency of 25 Hz instead of the rated frequency of 50 Hz for which the motor was designed for. Also the experimental current characteristics are affected by the characteristics of the load machine. 4.2 On the timing diagram of the block and sinusoidal patterns at 25 Hz, find the number of sectors and the number of pulses in a sector in both cases. Number of sectors: 6 Number of pulses: Block pattern 12 pulses Sine wave 12 pulses 4.3 How much is the maximal torque and at what speed does it occur. According to Graph 1 maximal torque is 1.45Nm and it occurs at 430 rpm (with boosting). 4.4 Which transistors are ON in Sector 2? Transistors 2, 5 and 3. 4.5 Call the differences between torque diagrams at different frequencies.

Wave-energy

Characteristics of waves Due to the depth of the sea, the heaviness of the wind and the time that wind can act the water surface, waves have different characteristics. Characteristics of waves Waves produced by a strong wind Waves caused by a strong wind over a deep sea and for a long time 4 The shape of waves can be described by a sinusoidal form of a mathematical sine function. The following values are important for a quantitative description of the energy stored and the power of the waves: Wave high h is the difference between wave crest and through. The higher the wave is, the more of energy is stored in it in form of potential energy. @hD = m The wave length l is the distance between two wave crests. The shorter the

Interfaces Be sure that interface conditions that are unusual but normal don’t cause damage to any part of the system. For instance, a microprocessor board may connect to a motor control board with a cable. What happens if the service engineer leaves the cable unplugged and turns the system on? Will the motors remain stationary, or will they run out of control? Make sure that issues like this are addressed. Sample Rate and Aliasing Figure 1.3 shows a sinusoidal input signal and an ADC that is sampling slower than the signal is changing. If the system measuring this system assumed it was measuring a sinusoid of some frequency, it would conclude that it was measuring a sinusoid exactly half the frequency of the real input. This is called aliasing. Aliasing can occur any time that the input frequency is a multiple of the sample frequency. Also shown in Figure 1.3 is another input waveform that is not a sinusoid.
