Opinion essay Television Promotes Violence Television has brought back murder into the home. There is no escape. -Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock (English film director and producer) I believe that in the previous quote Hitchcock expresses what he thinks about what the television is showing. In my opinion, he is saying that television is presenting a lot of violence and that people watching it are getting a bad influence. To begin with, I would have to agree with Hitchcock. Television really does promote violence, but there is still nothing being done. People, especially young children are still watching intense movies and cartoons
always optimistic! So, the black period of economy was in contrast with the optimistic and always happy-ending movie themes. When everything else was collapsing, Hollywood got bigger. ,,the most expencive movie!" - was being announced. Just to atract ppls attention. Actors were forced to make up scandals about their private life, so that the press would write about the movie. Everything was about the money. The most important person in the making of a movie was not the director, but the producer. He could dictate what was to be left out and what the actors were allowed to say. Altough, at the beginning years of Hollywood, the movies were actually silent and blackand white in color. That meant that the actors had to have extreamly good facial expressions and gesticulating. Was it fatalism or the need for comfort, but the big entertainment places of Broadway and theatres were full at its peak. Many ppl spent this way their last bucks, to start again on the blank page.
