Diane Schuur Diane Joan Schuur sündis 10. detsembril 1953 ja on USA lauljatar- pianist, tänapäeva dzässi üks hinnatumaid artiste. Diane Schuur on sünnist saati pime. Tema esimene singel ilmus 1971. aastal ning kandis nime "Dear Mommy and Daddy". Aastal 1975 kutsus tummar Ed Shaughnessy teda koos oma bigbändiga esinema Monterey dzässfestivalile. Läbimurre saabus samal festivalil 1979. aastal, kus saksofonist Stan Getz vaimustus tema talendist ning kutsus ta Valgesse Majja esinema. Aastal 1984 kutsus tollane Ameerika esimene leedi Nancy Reagan Schuuri teist korda esinema Valgesse Majja. Selle kontserdi raadioülekanne tõi talle plaadilepingu firmaga GRP. Samal aastal ilmus ka tema esimene plaat "Deedles".
At 1 o'clock, the guests arrived. They were my grandparents. Guests brought pies made by grandma and a beautiful bunch of flowers since i'd just had my birthday a week before. Mother asked me to take out a vase to put the flowers in the water. So i did and i climbed on top of a chair to grab my favourite vase with blue flowers on it. I was frustrated, because they hadn't delivered my drawings to santa, but then mom explained that because they are so small and carrying things bigger than themselves causes difficulties for them, they make special storage places at people's homes. On the first day they bring all the presents and gifts to the storing room or place and on the last day take all the drawings to santa.
The girl was on a grey bed and looked awfully pale. Unexpected patterns of compound words create a humorous effect, due to unusual combinations of elements. E.g in-chief= commanding, editor. Boyfriend in-chief sounds unexpected and funny. Compound words standing for people may be formed out of a phrase and they contain negative evaluation and sound contemptuous, e.g ms What's-her-name, a- might-have-been, an-also-ran (spordikommentaaridest).
