Mulgi rahvaluules on nende verbivormide lõpul veel k, mis viitab algsele moodustusviisile. · Tingiva kõneviisi minevikus on kasutusel sünteetilised vormid, nt ollus "olnuks" ei tullus "ei tulnuks". Nüüd on need mulgipärased vormid muutunud kirjakeeles üldtuntuks. · Käändsõnades on omapäraseks jooneks h või n- lõpulised seesütleva vormid mõnedes sagedastes määrsõnade vormides, nagu kähen "käes", ehen ~ ihen "ees", sehen ~ sihen "sees", mahan "maas", suhun "suus", pähen "peas". · Väga omased on mulgi murdele e-tunnuselised tugevaastmelised mitmuse vormid, nagu jalgel "jalgadel" laudest "laudadest", lehtel "lehtedel". Sõnamoodustus Mulgi murdes on produktiivsed (loovad) mitmed mujal vähelevinud sõnatuletusmallid. Nii esineb a-, ä- tüvelistest kahesilbilistest verbidest tuletatud k- liitelisi deverbaale, nt annak "väike and", nüssäk "lüps", testak "pärm". Ka on
