Beauty pageants for small girls should be banned

Some children do not want to partake in those competitions because it is tiring and chaotic, some children even do not understand what it is all about, because they are too young for that. In my opinion, a child who looks absolutely gorgeous without fake teeth, spraytan and an enormous wig is forced to wear all of it just to measure up to her parent wishes. I am not convinced that beauty pageants help to promote selfesteem in children. It can be promoted only if the contestant wins, otherwise it starts to form wrong image of this little human being. Most parents see pageants as a great opportunity for their children to get to know their body and practice performing, but the effect is the opposite. They are taught that all that matters is their appearance not their personality. On the other hand, pageants can teach how to dress properly. In my opinion, every little's girl dream is to wear high heels and look pretty

GRAFFITI AND STREET ART ARE NOT THE SAME THING While graffiti artists only work with spray paint and pride themselves on knowing their way around a can of the stuff, street artists use other media to create their pieces. “Graffiti artists really pride themselves on what we call can control,” says Cameron Moberg, 33, a graffiti artist and Street Art Throwdown contestant from San Francisco, California. “We take pride in not needing a stencil and really working on our can skills, that’s where the divide originally came from. Psühholoogia bioloogiline-, kognitiivne- ja sotsiaalne vaade

When people overestimate the role of dispositional factors in someone's behavior and underestimate the situational factors, it is called the fundamental attribution error. Psychologists argue that this error is so common because when people observe others' behavior and do not have enough information about them, they tend to attribute behavior to disposition. In a study by Ross et al., participants were given one of three roles: a game show host, contestant of the game show or member of the audience. The hosts were instructed to design their own questions for the contestants and then the audience watched the game show through the series of questions. After this, the observers were asked to rank the intelligence of the people in the show. They consistently ranked the host as most intelligent, even tough they knew that this person was randomly assigned and made up all the questions. The audience failed to attribute

on paper: They live up to what they have written down. Another common way for businesses to cash in on the "magic" of written declarations occurs through the use of an innocent-looking promotional device. Before I began to study weapons of social influence, I used to wonder why big companies such as Procter ~ Gamble and General Foods are always running those "25-, 50-, or 100-words or less" testimonial contests. They all seem to be alike. A contestant is to compose a short personal statement that begins with the words, "I like the product because ..." and goes on to laud the features of whatever cake mix or floor wax happens to be at issue. The company judges the entries and awards prizes to the winners. What puzzled me was what the companies got out of the deal. Often the contest requires no purchase; anyone submitting an entry is eligible. Yet, the companies appear to be willing to incur the costs of contest after contest
