Hip-Hop Mode (ettekanne)

work on the stage and in 1895 the family entered the Lambeth Workhouse. When he was sixteen Chaplin won the part of Billy in a West End production of Sherlock Holmes. He later joined Fred Karno's music hall revue. While touring the United States in 1913 Chaplin was discovered by the film producer Mack Sennett. Over the next couple of years Chaplin made a series of short slapstick films for Sennett's Keystone Company. In these films Chaplin developed a character that wore baggy pants, tight frock coat, large shoes on the wrong feet and a black derby hat. By his thirteenth film, Caught in the Rain (1914), Chaplin began to direct his own films. Chaplin now slowed the pace of his films, reduced the number of visual jokes but increased the time spent on each one. Chaplin placed the emphasis on the character rather than slapstick events. The themes of his films became more serious and reflected his childhood experiences of poverty, hunger and loneliness

air stuck inside the room but that made it even worse, all the breathable air seemed to fly out. Next, I quickly closed the window and rushed to the bathroom where I was about to take a refreshing cold shower. As I put my head under the cooling water, I realized that something was wrong. The water looked dark gray and seemed to have clogged up the pipes. "What now," I yelled at the sink floated with some gray goo. I didn´t bother to put on more clothes than some old baggy pants and a raincoat when I went outside in the hope of getting some clarification. The moment I stepped outside, I was about to pass out from the heat and exhaustion. I stretched out my palm and caught one "snowflake". It wasn´t cold and neither did it melt. The snowflake was nothing more than a piece of ash that was falling from the sky darkened by the density of the downfall.

Charles Spencer Chaplin

At the circus Charles admired the art of the clown called Rabbit. Before meeting him Charles had never thought of becoming a comic actor. After a short experience at the theatre he re-entered vaudeville in London as a member of the Fred Karno company. The Fred Karno pantomime troupe gave comic shows. Chaplin himself said that he would never have achieved success in pantomime without the art of mimicry he had learnt from his mother. His first picture was made in 1913. Charlie put on old baggy trousers, a tight jacket, enormously large shoes and a small bowler hat. He also had a small mustache and a cane. His success was immediate and he remained true to his funny costume all through his career. In 1918 he formed his own company and started producing films. He produced 80 films and in 79 of them he played the central character. Many have said that he was the greatest comic genius of all time. What made his comedy so popular was the sympathy for human beings of the oddest

Chaplin himself said that he would never have achieved success in pantomime without the art of mimicry he had learnt from his mother. His mother would sit by the window for hour, watching and mimicking everybody she happened to see in the street. She would mimic people using her face, hands and eyes. By watching her Charlie learnt how to express his feelings by means of his face and hands. In 1910 Chaplin went to America. His first picture was made in 1913. Charlie put on old baggy trousers, a tight jacket, enormously large shoes and a small bowler-hat. Under his nose hi stuck a small moustache. His success was immediate. In 1918 he formed his own company and started producing films. He produced 80 films. The life of his characters was full of misfortunes but he made them funny. Some of his films: "the pilgrim", "gold rush", "modern times", "city lights". He respected everybody, however small he might be. And he was afraid of nobody, however great he might be.

now everyone knows it. Why is that a problem for you?" "I was worried about your reaction, but there's more...There are things you don't know and I-" I took a deep, shaky breath. "It can't be that way between us, Gideon. We can't be public. I don't want-Damn it. I'll embarrass you." "You couldn't. It's not possible." He brushed a loose lock of hair off my face. "Can we talk about this later? If you need me-" "No, it's okay. Go." Cary came over. Dressed in baggy black cargo pants and a V-neck white undershirt, he still managed to look expensive. "Everything all right?" "Hi, Cary. Everything's fine." Gideon squeezed my hand. "Enjoy your lunch and don't worry." He could say that because he didn't know better. And I didn't know whether or not he'd still want me once he did. Cary faced me as Gideon walked away. "Worry about what? What's wrong?" "Everything." I sighed. "Let's get out of here, and I'll tell you over lunch
