Pikka aega ei leidnud Hall endale finantsilist abi, et toota alumiiniumit.1889 aastal läks Hall Pittsburgi, kus ta võttis ühendust tuntud metallurg Alfred E. Hunt'iga. Hall jätkas terve elu oma uurimus- ja leiutustegevusi ja sai veel 22 patenti, enamik alumiiniumi tootmise alal.
