Film review “Scent of a Woman“ 1992 by Martin Brest

Film review "Scent of a Woman" 1992 by Martin Brest Scent of a Woman is the story of Frank Slade, a blind, retired army colonel who hires Charlie Simms, a poor college student on the verge of expulsion, to take care of him over Thanksgiving weekend. At the beginning of the weekend, Frank takes Charlie to New York, where he reveals to the student that he intends to visit his family, have a few terrific meals, sleep with a beautiful woman and, finally, commit suicide. Over the weekend, as they learn about life through their series of adventures, they start trusting eachother. Two absolute favourite scenes: The first is in the New York ballroom where the blind Lt. Colonel teaches a lady to dance the tango. It is so smooth and dramatic that even a couch potato is tempted to dance along. The second and most profound is the speech that Al Pacino makes in defense of Charlie at the prep school disciplinary hearing. It has to go down as...

Leona Lewis"Bleeding Love"and Lenny Kravitz"American woman"

Leona Louise Lewis "Bleeding Love" and Leonard Albert "Lenny" Kravitz "American Woman" Leona Lewis, winner of the British singing contest "The X-Factor", is english pop and R'n'B singer. Her music is passionate and rhytmical, yet relaxing, enjoyed mostly by younger people. Lenny Kravitz, American singer-songwriter, is on the other hand more for old-school people, producing different styles, starting with rock and funk, to end with folk and ballads. Usually you would think, that title "Bleeding Love" would refer to something really corny, when it actually does not. The song refers to someone in a relationship, blinded by love and has no other option but to "bleed love" for a loved one. ,,American Woman" is originally written by a Canadian band The Guess Who but was differently interprated by Lenny Kravitz in 1999. Some say the ,,American Woman" refers to a Statue of Liberty or has something to do with anti-war movem...

Sylvia Day Bared to You Sylvia Day Bared to You The first book in the Crossfire series, 2012 This one is for Dr. David Allen Goodwin. My love and gratitude are boundless. Thank you, Dave. You saved my life. Acknowledgments My deepest gratitude to my editor, Hilary Sares, who really dug into this story and made me work for it. Basically, she kicked my ass. By not pulling her punches or letting me shortchange the details, she made me work harder and because of that, this story is a much, much better book. BARED TO YOU wouldn't be what it is without you, Hilary. Thank you so much! To Martha Trachtenberg, copy editor extraordinaire. This book is an important one for me and she treated it that way. Thank you, Martha! T...

His plays have been trans- lated into every major living language, and are performed more often than those of any other playwright. Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18 he married Anne Hathaway, who bore him three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Between 1585 and 1592 he began a successful c...

Some of the things you will learn in THE CODEBREAKERS • How secret Japanese messages were decoded in Washington hours before Pearl Harbor. • How German codebreakers helped usher in the Russian Revolution. • How John F. Kennedy escaped capture in the Pacific because the Japanese failed to solve a simple cipher. • How codebreaking determined a presidential election, convicted an underworld syndicate head, won the battle of Midway, led to cruel Allied defeats in North Africa, and broke up a vast Nazi spy ring. • How one American became the world's most famous codebreaker, and another became the world's greatest. • How codes and codebreakers operate today within the secret agencies of the U.S. and Russia. • And incredibly much more.
