and by this time has changed very many things. Honourable audience, I would like to talk about challenges of the 21st century. If we talk about Estonia then in my opinion our first challenge of the 21st century is to stop exodus. But to solve this problem we should ask why is the exodus so high? Answer is simple: salary, unemployment, salary. Very many things depend on incomes, so we head away from our country to find a better place where salarys are higher. For me it seems like our parliament wants to help all other countrys, for example Greece, or reckon with somebody else before help ourselves. To my way of thinking parliament should take care of our county number one and then think out how we can and should help others. The second aspect is economic crisis. This problem comprises all the world not only Estonia. Again, I get back to Greece. Many countrys give money to help them, but still they are in the red

Here in Estonia with our history of domination by foreign powers the last being the former soviet union an having our own language suppressed an languages imposed on us , it is a relief to see the importance of the English language an people have embraced it as a second language of Estonian people, it is the language that everybody feels a need an indeed a desire learn. As being able to speak English allows Estonians the chance to go away and benefit from the higher salarys available in the the English speaking nations such as America, Canada, England Ireland and Austrailia, although of course economic migration is not exclusive to the states that speak only English an understanding of English is a key to unlocking the benefits of travel not to mention the economic benefits to Estonia with much of the money earned abroad being sent back to supplement family incomes here at home.

Indirect taxes are slightly regressive- people with a lower income pay a proportionally greater part of their income than people with a higher income. Avoid tax on salarys? Instead a taxable money, some employers give staff advantages such as company cars, and free health insurance. Avoid tax on company profits? To register your companies head offices on tax haven. Tax evasion- illegal method to minimize your tax burden. Do not declaring your income, or reporting it inaccurately(ebatäpselt). Money laundering is the process of creating the appearance that large amounts of money

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student

which would not be so expensive anymore. All in all, when to think about well-development, it is good to live in Estonia. Taking into account Estonia’s scale in the world, we have definitely left mark with our fast developments at e-services and fast upgrowth after the Soviet occupation. However, there are still some changes to think about which could change Estonian people’s lives for the better. Considering high tax burden and low salarys with few subsidies, people are unfortunately starting to find life more preferable at abroad.
