I have always been interested in music, but especially in folk music. Romany music has affected a lot of different people´s folk music, especially in eastern Europe. I wanted to know why Romani music has become so popular and well-known and also what characterizes Romani music. Those were the questions why I decided to choose this topic to do my year paper. I found out that its popularity lies in its ability to change and develop with time and people.
