In 1969 Nathaniel Branden said that high self-esteem is the main foundation for parenting and has dominated since. It is incredibly important for us all to have a feeling of self-worth and acceptance, but as- children are been praised too much. Are we given the skills to work at a goal instead of expecting to complete it easily because we are told we are "smart"? Are we set up for failure by being told how smart we are, when in all actuality maybe we are right where we should be: in the middle? I have a feeling that the way we praise and are been praised is going to change; not that teachers and parents are going to be overly critical of their children and students, but that the way they encourage their kids will be more equal to others. We should be inspired to work harder for knowledge not for grades. B.K 11c

In Spain, everything works well, there is education, cleanliness, respect. We should follow their example." After his remarks caused an outcry in Spain, the Italian sought to distance himself from his comments, explaining that he was not praising totalitarianism. He said: "I just wanted to say that Spain is better that Italy in some respects and provide a political context. I would never dream of praising dictatorships. My father conceived me after having been imprisoned in Nazi concentration camps." Born in 1946 in a village in the northern Italian province of Gorizia, near the border with the then Yugoslavia, Capello insists a hardworking upbringing and the encouragement of his
Comparison of P. B. Shelley's and W. Wordsworth's "To a Skylark" Poems The Skylark is a bird whose singing is very melodical. It is an inspiration to many poets, two of them being P. B. Shelley and W. Wordsworth. The Skylark is a common nature metaphor for pure poetic expression. Shelly Shelley's poem is all about praising the birds singing and how the lark can create such beautiful songs unintentionally. For the bird, singing is effortless and comes out naturally. Still the creation is harmonic and spreads joy. The poem starts with Shelly calling the bird a "blithe spirit" and expressing his admiration of how the song comes from the bird's heart without any effort. "Bird thou never wert-/ That from heaven or near it" gives the mental image that Shelly doesn't actually see the bird but only hears it
Idealization of Nature in Romantic Poetry One of the main characteristics of romanticism in general is the constant praising of nature and connecting it with almost everything. As the second half of the 18 th century was the time of the industrial revolution, urbanization and mankind's distancing from nature in every way, it is not surprising that as a result it became more and more important to and valued by people it had suddenly become something remote and far from everyday life, somewhat a luxury. The utmost way this luxury manifests in romantic poetry is nature's ability to help whoever
Sheila. Yet some girls felt uneasy about the fact that Alice was so talented and young. They seemed happy and smiled with the others, but in their heart they felt jealousy. Soon, Alice went with Sheila to the Raven's, who were to competite against the Spice Dolls later. Matrix saw Alice on stage and now just stared smiling at her. Daemon wasn't so calm-tempered and after spotting Alice he hugged and kissed her many times, calling her the best praising names he knew. Alice was extremely happy now, and so were her friends. Mat treated everyone a soda, not forgetting about Sheila, who became of quite a liking the handsome guitarist. Matrix thought Sheila was nice as well, so a proper party was set up. Some of the other Space Dolls' members joined in as well, but the jealous ones stayed in the shadows. In a couple of hours, the competition ended with the Raven's victory. The Dolls had lost

disease and taking a bath would relieve his pain. Accordingly, David painted him dead in a bathtub, almost in a Christ like pose. The wound on Marat's right chest can be compared to Jesus's wounds when he was crucified, and therefore Marat seems like a hero dying for a noble cause. Moreover, with depicting Marat as Christ, although David himself and Marat were both atheists, Jacques-Louis David in a way creates a new religion, praising the social reformers of the French Revolution. (Rosenblum, Woldermar-Jansen, 1984, p.30) In 1793 David gave a speech while presenting The death of Marat, where he calls citizens to honor and praise Marat: "Hurry, all of you! Mothers, widows, orphans, oppressed soldiers, all whom he defended at the risk of his life, approach and contemplate your friend; he who was so vigilant is no more; his pen, the terror of traitors, his pen has slipped from his hand! Grieve! Our tireless friend is dead
displaying a poetic sensibility, philosophical austerity, and "Yankee" love of practical detail. He was also deeply interested in the idea of survival in the face of hostile elements, historical change, and natural decay; at the same time he advocated abandoning waste and illusion in order to discover life's true essential needs. He was a lifelong abolitionist, delivering lectures that attacked the Fugitive Slave Law while praising the writings of Wendell Phillips and defending abolitionist John Brown. Thoreau's philosophy of civil disobedience later influenced the political thoughts and actions of such notable figures as Leo Tolstoy, Mohandas Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Thoreau is sometimes cited as an anarchist, and though Civil Disobedience seems to call for improving rather than abolishing government--"I ask for, not at once no government, but at once a better
Maiden; though there is little contrast between the themes. Example 1. Example 2. The development could have been more purposeful. Preference has been given to repetitions, with some alterations, of the main theme. Qualitatively novel sequences are few. Both the classical harmony and the scanty imitational polyphony are simple. The final section (Presto) proceeds in gushing swing. The German critic Carl Hunnius wrote: Praising the Overture we can say that it reveals a vivid character, contains deep thoughts and is composed boldly with firm features. But its drawback stands in the not great impression at the end. We consider the short and unexpected final Presto guilty in this, booming and banging… threatening to demolish the stately edifice.1 The overture was warmly received, as with every new symphonic composition at the time, but it did not have any permanent influence on Estonian symphonic music.
