I am going to analyse three stories of this book - ,,A canary for one, ,,Cat in the rain" and ,,Hills like white elephants" The title is one of the most important part of the story. It is something that attracts you to read the story or the book. If the title is boring you do not want to read the book, but when it is mystical and ambiguous you just want to know what is the story about. All the titles of these three stories were methaphores and connected with animals. It is hard to guess what is the story about just looking at the title ­ it does not sum the main events. Even if the titles were connected with animals the main characters were still humans. The meaning of the title chance a lot after reading the story. At first it may be difficult to understand how the title is connected with the story. Later you can see that it was perfect title to the story. All the messages of the stories were hidden
