Problems When the white settlers came , the Indians lost their rich land, and most of their customs and beliefs , but before the white men's invasion they lived in harmony with nature . Widespread epidemic diseases wich killed millions of people--possibly in excess of 90% of the population in the hardest hit areas--and creating one of "the greatest human catastrophe in history.
