coliform bacteria. Salmonella and coliform bacteria infected food can lead to serious diseases and death. The chickens are raised in dark rooms, where there isn’t even room to move. They live in the middle of their own droppings and they eat each other. They are fed stuff that make them grow faster and bigger. The chickens can’t carry their own weight and fall down. Employees hit and toture them. I find horrifying how the chikens are treated as plain food not living creatures. Cows and pigs are treated in the same way. Most of the food in America is controlled and manufactured by few main companies. The major food companies make huge profits of which are based on supplying cheap but contaminated food, the heavy use of petroleum-based chemicals (largely pesticides and fertilizers), and the promotion of unhealthy food consumption habits by the American public.
over his behaviour and his reputation in public decreases. This grows concern in Basil, who has deep feelings for Dorian and Basil tries to put some sense into the boy's mind. After Dorian had killed Basil, the same coldness and indifference, which had been there after Sibyl's suicide, appear again. All the sins that Dorian makes reveal themselves on the portrait. He keeps the door locked, but sometimes goes to see what he really has become. The picture that he sees is so horrifying that ultimately he hates it so much that throws a knife into the heart of the Dorian in the picture. After death the portrait turns back to original and the body could only be recognized by the rings that Dorian wore. The price that Dorian paid for his long-lasting youth was too high. I would never wish to be young forever if it would turn me into such a monster as Dorian was.
I hated that I had left my mobile phone to home to be in privacy, I needed it. I was tired to death of running. I was watching back all the time and eventually I didn't see him anymore but I kept running. When I reached home I thought that I was safe but I didn't dare to switch on lights. I let the street lighting shine in. I found my mobile but of course it was discharged, like always, when I needed it. Then I heard a horrifying knocking on the door. He had followed me. I didn't find anywhere to hide myself, because my home was almost like a glasshouse, windows everywhere. And I already saw the man prowling behind a window. He looked through the window and saw me. I ran to kitchen and took a knife. Before I had time enough to think about what I should do next I heard glass clattering and I saw this man in my living room. He was aiming at me with his gun. He said that I have seen too much and then I heard a blaring shot

The patriot by Stephen Molstad The story took place in the 18th century. Benjamin Martin was a veteran of the FrenchIndian War and a widower who raised his seven children. Gabriel, the oldest, wanted to join the American forces without his father's permission. Martin, who knew the horrifying carnage that war presented, didn't want his son to participate, but against his father's wishes, Gabriel did join up. He returned home after two years, stumbling wounded into the family home. That night, a skirmish between the British and the patriots woke the Martins and they gave care to the wounded of both sides the next morning. British soldiers approached the house, proceeded to kill the Colonial wounded, burnt down the
He then settles in to read a yellow book sent by Lord Henry; the book becomes Dorian's blueprint for life. Several years pass, and Dorian lives a hedonistic life according to the guidelines established by Lord Henry and the yellow book. While the face in the portrait has turned ugly, Dorian remains young, beautiful, and innocent. On Dorian's 38th birthday, he encounters Basil, who desperately asks his former friend if all the horrifying rumors about him are true. Dorian finally snaps and shows Basil the portrait, in which the horrible truth about his wicked nature is revealed. Hallward is horrified and begs him to repent. Dorian claims it is too late and kills Basil in a fit of rage and hides his body. He blackmails another of his former old friend Alan Campbell into disposing of the body. An hour later, Dorian attends a party, but is bored and distracted. He then heads for an opium den
The novel has 27 chapters. All the chapters are journals of characters. Also the book has ten pages of notes which are explanations of different places, names and expressions. ‘’Dracula’’ has cathegorised under many different genres of literature – vampire literature, horror fiction, gothic novel and invasion literature. For me it is mostly horror fiction, although I find this more as a fantasy literature or thriller. I do not think there is something really horrifying but there is the excitement of what is going to happen next. In my opinion, ‘’Dracula’’ is a story about the good and the evil. People in England are trying to save their country, even the world, from the evil of Count Dracula, who definitely has great power to do that. Of course, this fight has its ups and downs, as usual in the stories of good and the evil. As it appears, there are no winning without loss so this is a great example of good defeating the bad.
This can cause problems. For example, in Japan where it is considered very inappropriate, practically improper, to use eyebrow raising at all. Tears and laughter are forms of expression that we think are fairly easy to interpret. However, tears are used to express many different things - sorrow, joy, and anger. Laughter can be a sign of happiness and friendliness, but also of contempt and sarcasm. Sometimes we also laugh if we are scared, or if we experience something very horrifying. Occasionally, people who work with other people in the welfare or health sectors can happen to laugh if they learn of something particularly tragic - maltreatment, violence, or death. This is likely to be a response to protect their own sanity from the horror of many incidents they face in their work and may also stop them from breaking down and crying. To be able to read body language is very interesting, but it can be complicated, so watch out! Mistakes can easily be made.
Jüri Gümnaasium THE GREAT PLAGUE IN LONDON Research paper Ervin Sagor 10.h Supervisor: Kristel Kriisa Jüri 2011 TABLE OF CONTENTS INTRODUCTION The history of England has always been fascinating for me and plague was one the most horrifying diseases in human history with millions of deaths across the world. That is why I chose the Great Plague as the topic of my research. The purpose of my study is to educate myself and gain more knowledge on the history and find out how people lived in England in the seventeenth century. For a start, I will give a short review what the bubonic plague is. Then I tell about Black Death in England before the Great Plague, city life before and during the plague. Secondly, I
In Pulp Fiction's opening segment, tided "Prologue," two young people sit talking in a "normal Denny's, Spires-like coffee shop in Los Angeles." W h a t could be more ordi nary than this world? However, it turns out this young man ( P u m p k i n ) and woman (Honey Bunny) are discussing the pros and cons of various forms of armed robbery. It's a different kind of O R D I N A R Y W O R L D , an underworld o f low-level criminals, a world most of us would rather not think about. It's too horrifying to consider that all around us are legions o f dull-witted crooks waiting for their chance to rob us or kill us, perhaps sitting right across from us in our favorite ' 5 0 s coffee shop. Pumpkin's first words are characteristic of a R E F U S A L — " N o , forget it, it's too risky. I'm through doin that shit." Apparendy H o n e y Bunny has just issued a C A L L by proposing they rob another liquor store, their line o f crime until now
