Sciuscià. i I   am   doing   my   presentation   about   Vittorio   de   Sica   movie   „Siuscia“in   English   the „Shoeshine.“ This movie was released in 1946 and is often referred to as the first masterpiece of de Sica. I chose this movie because I really enjoyed de Sicas „Ladri di biciclette“ and also, I often enjoy   watching old movies. The action of this movie takes place on the streets of Rome after World War II and the characters usually speak Italian but sometimes, they bring in some English. This movie has also received an Oscar for the best foreign movie in 1947. „Sciuscia“  talks   about  two  boys  –  Giuseppe  Filippucci   and  Pasquale  Maggi,   who  are   in desperate need of getting a horse. Unfortunately, the do not have lots of money because they live off their income from shining shoes. One day the boys must go to the fortune teller to sell some blankets, but after the sale someone bursts into the office as well and blames the fortune teller of handling stolen goods. But the boys get to keep the money and finally have enough to buy the horse.  Everything seems to be going well until police accuses boys of stealing a very big amount of money from the fortune teller and they are sent to juvenile detention Centre. After a while boys are called into the polices chief’s office for interrogation and in addition to questioning the also get beat up. Pasquale – knowing who committed the crime of stealing, confesses. In the end the boys escape from the prison and finally Giuseppe falls off the bridge and dies. Similarly to „Ladri di biciclette“  this movie has a sad ending. The movie stars Franco Inerlenghi as Pasquale Maggi and Rinaldo Smordoni as Giuseppe Filippucci. Franco was an Italian actor who has worked with several great Italian directors and has also appeared in many international movies. Rinaldo is also an Italian actor, who is mostly known for „Sciuscia.“ He was first chosen for this movie because of how he felt and looked in front of the camera. The movie was constructed around him from the beginning. This movie is one of the first Italian neorealistic movies. For this type of movie, it is typical to set the story amongst the poor and the working class, it is filmed on location and using non- professional actors. It is representing changes in the Italian psyche and conditions of everyday life.  Pauline   Kael   has   commented   the   movie   in   following   words:   „Life,   as   „Shoeshine“ demonstrates, is too complex for facial endings.“ What she means is that „Shoeshine“ is a

human experience without softening and smoothing the edges. In this movie we get to feel human emotions very powerfully even though this movie itself is so sweet and simple.  „Sciuscia“ has also inspired a series of comic books which were created by Tristan Torelly, who is an Italian publisher and writer. The series ran from 1949 until 1956.  Many writers have thought how de Sica seems to be set against the harsh realities of ruined economy like unemployment, poverty, and always shows it very roughly. Many have found that these kind of thing can or should be served from a softer edge. This movie is for example using childhood innocence to manipulate with the public. But what is the most important thing to take from this movie is that two people who love one another can easily end up destroying one another.  I agree with all the remarks that it is very sad to watch but also due to the strong emotions, it delivers a message very sprightly to the public. In addition to the deep and meaningful plot I also have to say that I always enjoy the musical work of old movies and so I did this time as well

renting and building sets cost money etc. So, in the long term, making longer films more than 3 hours is not that good idea. Longer films would start losing money. Films in ordinary cinema are not long. Because of that, filmmakers have to make compromises, all the time and everywhere. Starting with the writer. If they come with an original idea, easier for them. They don’t have to go that deep into the background of the characters to tell the story because there would be enough time in the film to show it, so they can write less but better. When writers have to adapt story from the book, it gets more complicated. Firstly they have to get to the very core message what the book has to say and even speak to the original writer. Then all the rough material has to be watered down to fit to the strict time limit for the movie. That means, maybe altering story, events, characters, back story. When making dialogue shorter, meaningful messages might get lost or doesn’t have

Inception A maze. A trap. An enigma wrapped inside an enigma. Call Inception what you will, but overall it's a mind blowing cinematic experience. Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, this visually stunning film takes us on a journey through the dream scape. It's difficult to describe. It's a heist movie. It's a love story. It's a psychological thriller like no other before it. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb. Dom is a professional extractor, paid to invade people's subconscious and steal information that lays nuzzled in their psyche. His team consists of the point man Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the architect Ariadne (Ellen Page), and the forger Eames (Tom Hardy). They are hired by Mr

com: 24 Hour Takeover to coincide with the official launch of Jackassworld, a web site which will house everything Jackass from now on, including classic and new stunts. The TV special allowed the core members of Jackass to take over MTV and its studios for 24 hours, broadcasting new pranks and stunts, along with a tribute to stunt man Evel Knievel shot days before. Films Jackass: The Movie After the show went off the air, the cast reunited in 2002 to film what they believed would be the conclusion of Jackass: a full-length motion picture version of the show entitled Jackass: The Movie. The cast made it clear that the film was their "farewell" to the fans of the show, and with the franchise taking the movie format, the cast and crew were now allowed to circumvent the censors, showing more vulgar stunts than the ones featured on the TV show. [8] Despite earlier disagreements, MTV Films assisted in the movie's distribution.

The Medium Is the Message

The Medium Is the Message

1 The Medium Is the Message In a culture like ours, long accustomed to splitting and dividing all things as a means of control, it is sometimes a bit of a shock to be reminded that, in operational and practical fact,, the medium is the message. This is merely to say that the personal and social consequences of any medium-that is, of any extension of ourselves-result from the new scale that is introduced into our affairs by each extension of ourselves, or by any new technology. Thus, with automation, for example, the new patterns of human association tend to eliminate jobs, it is true. That is the negative result. Positively, automation creates roles for people, which is to say depth of involvement in their work and human association that our preceding mechanical technology had destroyed. Many people would be disposed to say that it was not the machine, but what one did with the machine, that was its meaning or message. In terms of the ways in which the machine altered our relations to
