Irene vennana. 8-aastaselt sai Hank endale emalt kitarri. Juhuslikult pandi ta ühel päeval esinema kohalikku raadiojaama WSFA, mille tulemusena produtsendid palkasid ta tegema päris oma 15-minutilist sõud, kaks korda nädalas. WSFA esitles Hanki nime all "Laulev laps" ("The Singing Kid"). Taustabändiks palgati The Oklahoma Cowboys. Montgomery's olles pani Hank kokku bändi The Drifting Cowboys. Warholi filmid said küll tuntuks underground kinodes, kuid massidesse need ei jõudnud. 7 Kasutatud materjal: 1. g., Nector and Eli, Lipsha and King? Follow these and other oppositions as you continue reading the book. She shows that they don't really get along, or they are very different; hardly communicate with each other etc. 13. What social and political criticism does the chapter contain? Expand on the government policy concerning the Indians and their land. Can we see any racial tensions? Illustrate the devastating effect of alcohol on the Natives. It talks about rich cowboys and lands which Indians received as allotments. The policy of allotment was a joke for them; many of those were sold to whites and lost forever. Racial tensions Indians were not treated as equals. Alcohol makes Indians either crazy or sleepy etc, effect on them is totally different as on whites. 14. Comment on the attitude of the family members to King's new car. Eli didn't like it. Grandma was protecting him. Nobody in the family was proud of it, except for King and

H. Channing. But the arch-advocates in literature of most that the transcendentalists stood for were Emerson and Thoreau; and the two documents which most definitely give literary expression to their views were Emerson's Nature (1836) and Thoreau's Walden (1854). East coast dominance of the Am lit scene was broken by Mark Twain, the pen- name of Samuel Longhorne Clemens (1835-1910). Twain, who grew up in Missouri along the banks of the Mississippi, wrote about cowboys, stagecoach drivers and low-life criminals people living in the West. In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876), he paints a realistic picture of the life of two young boys growing up in the Mississippi area. The themes of childhood and nature recur in his masterpiece The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885). In both these works Mark Twain shows his deep distrust of `respectable' society and his sympathy for social outcasts and the common man. He
