CHEMORECEPTORS – Sensory neurones which respond to chemical stimuli (e.g. glucose concentration in blood). CONCENTRATION GRADIENT – A difference in the concentration of a particular substance between two compartments. CONE – A receptor cell located in the retina at the back of the eye. It is sensitive to colour.
