Pärast seda väikest õnnetust olid bändi näpud jällegi suhteliselt põhjas omadega ja pealegist olid nad kusagil Las Vegases kus polnud just kõige rahulikum keskond kui sul raha ei ole. Mingit moodi leidsid nad ennast teel San Fransisco'sse. Seal viibides tegin nad kohaliku raadiojaama KSAN-FM jaoks raadiosaate. Kogu see kogemus suurendas nende populaarsust Põhja-Ameerikas. 1973 aastal rahvast pingesse panevas olukorras lasi bänd välja järje albumile ,,Catch a Fire" mis sai nimeks ,,burnin". The reason for the breakup is shrouded in conjecture; some believe that there were disagreements amongst Livingston, McIntosh, and Marley concerning performances, while
