The Retezat Mountains

The Retezat Mountains The Retezat Mountains are among the most noteworthy natural beauties of Romania. Due to its rich biodiversity, most part of this massif has been set up in 1935 as a National Park. The Mountains pertain to a greater mountain belt, the Southern Carpathians and are surrounded by countless hollows and valleys that facilitate road access through the mountains. I went to an adventure camp, I climbed Retezat Mountains and it was amazing. Retezat is a place for weekends and also for long staying. The Great Plague In London

wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Death_in_England) In 136162 the plague returned to England, this time causing the death of around 20% of the population. After this the plague continued to return intermittently throughout the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, in local or national outbreaks. (Wikipedia homepage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Death_in_England) 4 3 CITY LIFE BEFORE AND DURING THE PLAGUE In the seventeenth century London was a city with an impressive architecture. The beauties of the city were the large castles, stunning churches and amazing abbeys. The gap between rich and poor was humongous. Common people lived in houses which were made out of wood. The streets were very narrow and buildings were built close together. Most of the people were poor and the living conditions were unbearable. The city was infested by rats because of the townspeople who would throw their trash, out-dated food and sewage out on the streets. 3.1 Spreading of the plague

"I am astonished," said Miss Bingley, "that my father should have left so small a collection of books. What a delightful library you have at Pemberley, Mr. Darcy!" "It ought to be good," he replied, "it has been the work of many generations." "And then you have added so much to it yourself, you are always buying books." "I cannot comprehend the neglect of a family library in such days as these." "Neglect! I am sure you neglect nothing that can add to the beauties of that noble place. Charles, when you build your house, I wish it may be half as delightful as Pemberley." "I wish it may." "But I would really advise you to make your purchase in that neighbourhood, and take Pemberley for a kind of model. There is not a finer county in England than Derbyshire." "With all my heart; I will buy Pemberley itself if Darcy will sell it." "I am talking of possibilities, Charles."

William Shakespeare - Hamlet

For we have closely sent for Hamlet hither, That he, as 'twere by accident, may here Affront Ophelia: 84 Her father and myself, lawful espials, Will so bestow ourselves that, seeing, unseen, We may of their encounter frankly judge, And gather by him, as he is behaved, If 't be the affliction of his love or no That thus he suffers for. QUEEN GERTRUDE I shall obey you. And for your part, Ophelia, I do wish That your good beauties be the happy cause Of Hamlet's wildness: so shall I hope your virtues Will bring him to his wonted way again, To both your honours. OPHELIA Madam, I wish it may. Exit QUEEN GERTRUDE LORD POLONIUS Ophelia, walk you here. Gracious, so please you, We will bestow ourselves. To OPHELIA Read on this book; That show of such an exercise may colour Your loneliness. We are oft to blame in this,— 'Tis too much proved—that with devotion's visage And pious action we do sugar o'er The devil himself.

price of the larger item, he sees the price of the less expensive item as appearing smaller by comparison. In the same way, the larger-then-smaller request procedure uses the contrast principle to make the smaller request look even smaller by com- parison with the larger one. If I want you to lend me $5, I can make the request seem smaller than it is by first asking you to lend me $10. One of the beauties of this tactic is that, by first requesting $10 and then retreating to $5, I will have si- multaneously engaged the force of both the reciprocity rule and the contrast prin- ciple. Not only will my $5 request be viewed as a concession to be reciprocated, it will also look like a smaller request than if I had just asked for $5 straightaway. REJECTION-THEN-RETREAT
