Letter of complain (restaurant)

beginning of our vacation. Unfortunately, the substandard food served in your restaurant really dampened our spirits. Firstly, I ordered salad, but it was not fresh. Furthermore, the vegetables had not been washed. I found pieces of dirt on the lettuce leaves. Then, I was served a really tasteless steak. It was tough and chewy. I called the waiter to bring me new steak. After waiting, the waiter finally came and gave me a new steak. To my astonishment, it was as bad as the first one. As if that was not bad enough, when I decided to eat my apple pie, I found out that it was stale and dry. Once again, I called waiter, but he claimed that it had been freshly made that morning. As you can imagine, I was extremely upset by the treatment I received and I will certainly not visit your restaurant again. I hope that in future you will take care of these mistakes in order to prevent them Yours faithfully, Name

feeling the face has to express. The same features express anger and contempt, while softer features are taken to express kindness and friendliness - but note: only if the feelings also extend to the eyes. A mouth that smiles without the eyes smiling as well sends signals of falseness and unreliability. Eyebrows that rise up and down rapidly signal acceptance of social contact. If you raise your eyebrows and keep them raised for a while it signals surprise and astonishment - perhaps even indignation. When the raised eyebrows are used along with a wink you are flirting. This can cause problems. For example, in Japan where it is considered very inappropriate, practically improper, to use eyebrow raising at all. Tears and laughter are forms of expression that we think are fairly easy to interpret. However, tears are used to express many different things - sorrow, joy, and anger. Laughter can be a sign of happiness and friendliness, but also of contempt and sarcasm

visits are the pre-Colombian ruins in Mexico, Angkor Wat in Cambodia and hiking in Tibet. He has plans to travel more extensively in China and the Far East when he retires. Critics of Capello suggest that his high-mindedness is the flip- side of his unsentimental approach to his professional life. He spent five years as manager of Roma, steering the club to the Italian league title while engaged in frequent clashes with the management of its Turin-based rivals, Juventus. It was to general astonishment, therefore, that Capello walked out on Roma overnight in 2004 - to join Juventus. In response, Roma fans issued a sort of footballing fatwa against their former manager and hero, meaning that, for several years, he could only return to the Italian capital to visit his dentist while accompanied by bodyguards. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Capello put his ability to weather such crises down to his faith. A devout Catholic, his liking for strong doctrine was revealed earlier this year

new world for Catherine. The life there differed from the one back at home. "How uncomfortable it is," whispered Catherine, "not to have a single acquaintance here" "Yes, my dear," replied Mrs. Allen, with perfect serenity, "it is very uncomfortable indeed." In Bath, Catherine met a young clergyman Henry Tilney. "Have you been long in Bath, madam?" "About a week," replied Catherine, trying not to laugh. "Really!" with affected astonishment. "Why should you be surprised, sir?" "Why, indeed?" said he, in his natural tone "but some emotion must appear to be raised by your reply, and surprise is more easily assumed, and not less reasonable than any other." Mr Tilney was very charming, he left a good impression on Catherine and she quickly fall for him. Catherine also met Isabella Thrope, they became best friends. Isabella introduced her the social world of Bath with its balls, shows, fashion, dances and gossip

and read great books and make extracts." Mary wished to say something sensible, but knew not how. "While Mary is adjusting her ideas," he continued, "let us return to Mr. Bingley." "I am sick of Mr. Bingley," cried his wife. "I am sorry to hear that; but why did not you tell me that before? If I had known as much this morning I certainly would not have called on him. It is very unlucky; but as I have actually paid the visit, we cannot escape the acquaintance now." The astonishment of the ladies was just what he wished; that of Mrs. Bennet perhaps surpassing the rest; though, when the first tumult of joy was over, she began to declare that it was what she had expected all the while. "How good it was in you, my dear Mr. Bennet! But I knew I should persuade you at last. I was sure you loved your girls too well to neglect such an acquaintance. Well, how pleased I am! and it is such a good joke, too, that you should have gone this morning and never said

"Edward Cullen is staring at you again," Jessica said, finally breaking through my abstraction with his name. "I wonder why he's sitting alone today." My head snapped up. I followed her gaze to see Edward, smiling crookedly, staring at me from an empty table across the cafeteria from where he usually sat. Once he'd caught my eye, he raised one hand and motioned with his index finger for me to join him. As I stared in disbelief, he winked. "Does he mean you?" Jessica asked with insulting astonishment in her voice. "Maybe he needs help with his Biology homework," I muttered for her benefit. "Um, I'd better go see what he wants." I could feel her staring after me as I walked away. When I reached his table, I stood behind the chair across from him, unsure. "Why don't you sit with me today?" he asked, smiling. I sat down automatically, watching him with caution. He was still smiling. It was hard to believe that someone so beautiful could be real

secrecy is lacking. Hebrew tradition offers at least two such conversions in the Old Testament (none are recorded for the New). In Jeremiah 25:26 and 51:41, the form SHESHACH appears in place of Babel ("Babylon"). The second occurrence strikingly demonstrates the lack of a secrecy motive, since the phrase with SHESHACH is immediately followed by one using "Babylon": How is Sheshach taken! And the praise of the whole earth seized! How is Babylon become an astonishment Among the nations! Confirmation that SHESHACH is really a substitute for Babel and not a wholly separate place comes from the Septuagint and the Targums, the Aramaic paraphrases of the Bible, which simply use "Babel" where the Old Testament version has SHESHACH. The second transformation, at Jeremiah 51:1, puts LEB KAMAI ("heart of my enemy") for Kashdim ("Chaldeans"). Both transformations resulted from the application of a traditional

(MacKenzie, 1974, p. 4) According to interviewer Bob MacKenzie, when Wood said, "It's been very ed- ucational," he was smiling. We can be sure that when ABC's Diller vowed "never again," he was not. Both men had clearly learned a lesson from the "Great Poseidon Auction." The reason that both could not smile as a consequence was that, for one, DEFENSE _ _ Does the Vest Come with That? To the astonishment of all concerned, a leisure suit worn by John Travolta in the movie Saturday Night Fever recently sold for $145,000. Perhaps we can help explain the astronomical price by noting two features of the sale. First, the suit is a special, one-of-a- kind item. Second, it was purchased at auction, where two buyers became locked into a competitive bidding spiral. When asked later whether he thought the final figure was excessive, the auctioneer remarked graciously, "Well, it certainly was a record for
