Capillary electrophoresis i.k.
included in the capillary, which is filled with a suitable substrate. The division conducts as
usual, only occasionally turning off the current before the enzyme reaches the detector to start
the reaction. Products arise in the capillary, respectively, where the substrate is converted
during the enzymatic reaction. After reclosing the current, reaction products are transferes to
the detector. Electrophoregram reflects the activity of the enzyme along the capillary. This
highly specific and sensitive technique called Electrophoretically mediated microanalysis
(EMMA).
Perhaps the most important limitation of CE, which is caused by the application of not
optimal for the ionic compounds detection method, is possible to avoid by the electric
conductivity detection
