Isheemiline insult – Aju ei saa trombi tekkimise tõttu piisavalt verd.
INR (International Normalized Ratio) – Vere hüübimise tase. 2.0-3.0 on
normaalne vahemik (kasutatakse vaid varfariini puhul).
NOAC (Noval Oral Anticoagulants) – Uued suukaudsed antikoagulandid.

Varfariin (vana, üldine kasutamine väheneb)

aPTT (activated partial thromboplastin time) – Trombi tekkimise kiiruse
mõõtmine.
Tromboplastiin – trombi eelvorm, sellest areneb tromb.
