Capillary electrophoresis i.k.
particular for chiral separations, and the technique is widely adopted for analyzing
biomolecules such as DNA and proteins by CE gel, steroids by MECC.
Application of CE, CEC and their derived techniques to assay active pharmaceutical
ingredients (APIs), grug impurity testing, chiral drug separation, determination of APIs in
biological fluids and terapeutic drug monitoring have been reported. CE has contributed
immensely to better understanding of affinity interactions between cyclodextrins and chiral
drugs. CE methods were reported for accessing, separating metallodrugs and their
metabolites, characterizing related metalbioligand species, metabolomic and proteomic
analysis focussed on metalbased drugs.
