Industrial Revolution started in the second half of the 18th century. It was a period
when many machines were invented and factories established. Factories meant more work for
people but the conditions were inhuman. By the end of the 18th century Britain was the most
industrialised country enjoying an international trade boom.
During the late 18th century a huge network of canals and railways were built.
