Currently a gymnast can perform in the individual event or in the group event. They
perform routines in 12 x 12 meter areas, accompanied by music. In competitions,
female participants typically wear leotards and rhythmic gymnastic toe shoes.
Kabaeva is one of the most decorated gymnasts in rhythmic gymnastic history, with
2 Olympic medals, 14 World Championship medals, and 25 European Championship
medals. She started Rhythmic Gymnastics at age 3, with Coach Margarita
Samuilovna. Kabaeva completed her career after the 2007 Season. She is a
Russian politician now.
