Charles Dickens "Our Mutual Friend"
His
father is dead and John is rich now, when he will marry a girl he has never seen. That was told
in his father's will, where is told that John Harmon will inherit all his father's money when he
will marry a certain girl who is named Bella Wilfer.
It is an autumn evening and dark shadows are covering the river. There is a boat and in it is
sitting Jesse Hexam with his daughter Lizzie. Suddenly, another boat appears and the man in
it starts to talk with Jesse. He is called Rogue Riderhood and he says that Jesse is his partner,
but Jesse doesn't agree with this and he asks Lizzie to row home as fast as she can. While
rowing, they find a drowned man at the end of the boat's rope. Later Mortimer Lightwood,
who was old John Harmon's lawyer, receives a letter from a boy named Charley Hexam
where is said that young John Harmon is dead. Mr. Lightwood, Mr. Wrayburn and Charley go
