Ta sai omale liikmeteks: Janeki trumm; Esso bass, Markus Laul ja Olari-helimees. Makaagid ja majad räägib viiest kümnenda klassi poisist Esso-Richardis t, Janekust, Markusest, Olarist ja Vladimirist. Neil on oma bänd Funky Maja, mille nime nad muutsid Monkey Houseiks, kuna funky oli liialt suurejoonelise ks arvatud nende musastiili kohta. Juhtumisi on see ka kooli populaarseim. Laval olles on nad staarid, aga tavaelus on nad viis täiesti tavalist poissi. Muidugi on raamatus ka suhted nende ja tüdrukute vahel.
