Racism is most common among young people or in areas where many coloured
people live. The most common act of racism is calling names. There are very many
coloured people in London and it is offensive to call them "nigga", "negro" or "Japs".
But calling names isn't the worst act of racism. Many immigrants get beaten up or
bullied because of their religion or ethnic origin. Some get killed and commit suicide
because of the bulling. I think that a person who persecutes somebody because of
who he or she is isn't a smart one. It is important to respect other cultures and not to
judge someone just because he or she is different from you.
There are also people who don't mean to be impolite but tend to be because
of their lack of knowledge. For example it is easy to mix up Japanese and Chinese.
At the same time a simple mistake like this may hurt another person's feelings. Also
