There are two types
of rock paintings. One is petroglyphs it means removing the rock, including scratching,
abrading, pecking, carving, drilling, incising and sculpting. The other one is pictography
that means painting with mineral pigments, for example clay and ochre.
The dot painting is when patterns are created using dots.
The paintings are also about the Dreamtime.
The most famous Aboriginal artist is Albert Namatjira. He is best known for his
watercolour Australian outback landscapes.

Patrick White was a world-famous Australian writer. In 1973, he was awarded the
Nobel Prize in Literature
