The King's Speech The King's Speech is a true story based drama. The story is set in England in 20 th century. It is about King Georg VI of Britain, his sudden rise to the throne in 1936 and his speech therapist Lionel Logue who helped him to get rid of his stammer. King Georg VI is the son of King George V and father of the currently ruling Queen Elizabeth II. The film is directed by Tom Hooper, starring Colin Firth (King Georg VI), Helena Bonham Carter (his wife Elizabeth) and Geoffrey Rush (Lionel Logue).
