that as long as he remained as young as he was in the painting, he would be handsome. He feared the day he would age and start to form wrinkles. For that not to happen, he traded his soul for his youth. From the moment he becomes forever young, he begins to deteriorate. Even when he reaches his epiphany and sees his evil through the portrait, he simply denies seeing it and continues his malicious deeds. He started off as one of the kindest, most innocent and modest men ever. But since he traded his soul, it all changed. It became easier and easier for him to sin, because he always had a defensive line he does not have a soul. At first he wanted to be a greatness to others, but later he did not care about the oppinion of others at all. He was just so obsessed with his youth. “But mommy,” “Yes, my dear?” whispers the mother, stops and turns around so quickly that her red dress with white dots on it floats up and then falls back. “When I grow up, then I want to be like you! As beautiful and kind as you!” declares the girl, with a voice filled with pride. The mother looks at her daughter, feeling so happy and blessed. Her Ann and her George are everything for her. “My sweet Ann but you already are so kind and beautiful, the kindest little princess in the whole wide world!” are the mother’s words to the daughter. The girl runs towards her mother and jumps into her lap. A few seconds later she shouts excitedly “Father is home!” A young man enters the garden and hugs his daughter who runs into his lap. “Ooh, seems like my little one missed me today! I missed you too! Go inside the house and in the living-room you will find a present that I got you,” says the man.

It can make you the master of a situation that might otherwise cause you to become up- set and angry. One of the kindest things you can do to help others is to encour- age them to stand back from a problem situation and be objective about it. Encourage them to view the difficulty as if it was happen- ing to someone else. Ask them what advice they would give to an- other person who was facing this same problem. By detaching from the emotionally charged situation, you and others will become much more capable of dealing with it effectively.

the chaise that brought them from Epsom. All that is known after this is, that they were seen to continue the London road. I know not what to think. After making every possible inquiry on that side London, Colonel F. came on into Hertfordshire, anxiously renewing them at all the turnpikes, and at the inns in Barnet and Hatfield, but without any success--no such people had been seen to pass through. With the kindest concern he came on to Longbourn, and broke his apprehensions to us in a manner most creditable to his heart. I am sincerely grieved for him and Mrs. F., but no one can throw any blame on them. Our distress, my dear Lizzy, is very great. My father and mother believe the worst, but I cannot think so ill of him. Many circumstances might make it more eligible for them to be married privately in town than to pursue their first plan; and even if he could form such a design against a young
