Capillary electrophoresis i.k.
difficulty in automation.
Since capillary electrophoresis is similar as HPLC, and the usual electrophoresis, then
it will displace some HPLC methods. Like in the HPLC, in CE are used columns with
internal diameters from 50 to 100 microns and a length of 0.11 m. Instead of a pump for the
movement of the particles used voltage of several kilovolts.
The spread of CE in pharmaceutical analysis was interfered by technical problems with
reproducibility of injection a very small volumes. These problems are largely solved, so that a
quantitative analysis of the error is less than 2%. When dealing with internal standards the
errors quantify for about 1%.
