Eclipse, Chapter Ninteen – Selfish kokkuvõte

This time, only Jake, Quil and Embry have come to watch. Bella is stricken with guilt afresh when Edward explains that tonight they're practicing handling two enemies at once -- a reminder that the Cullens are still outnumbered, and Edward's absence will reduce their numbers further. Gazing at the werewolves, she feels a further wave of anxiety. Jake catches her agonized glance and trots over to her side. It's stupid to worry, he tells her impatiently -- Edward translating -- but Bella isn't wholly reassured. Edward goes to join his family in practicing, and Jake settles down beside Bella. After some hesitation she settles against his warm, furry flank to watch the Cullens exercise.

Eclipse, Chapter Fourteen – Declaration

Edward explains to Bella the process by which the newborns use up their human blood and why it makes them so much stronger. Bella considers her own strength as a vampire and Edward assures her she will be stronger than both he and Emmett. Edward brings Bella to the La Push boundary line the next day and his mood darkens as they see Jacob waiting in his car. Edward has apparently heard Jacob's thoughts but doesn't share them with Bella knowing Jacob will tell her. Jacob honks the horn impatiently, irritating Edward. Bella walks to Jacob's car and when she turns to wave at Edward, she thinks he looks truly upset. She surmises that he must be angry over the honking incident, but in reality it's Jacob's thoughts that have upset him. When Bella gets in Jacob's car she notices how tired he is and suggests they go back to his house to hang out. Jacob explains his sleepiness: he has been doing double shifts on his nightly patrols because of the threat to her

Morland must take care of you." Catherine did not have any interest in John because she was in love with Henry. She became friends with Henry's polite and quiet sister Eleanor, who was a complete opposite of Isabella. Henry and Eleanor asked Catherine out for a walk but their plan was delayed because of the rain. Isabella and James pushed her into riding with John. On their way Catherine saw Miss Tilney leaning on her brother's arm, walking slowly down the street. "Stop, stop, Mr. Thrope" she impatiently cried; "it is Miss Tilney. Stop, stop, I will get out this moment and go to them." But Thrope did not listen to her and only lashed his horse into a brisker trot. Later, she apologized to Henry and Eleanor for being so impolite and another meeting was arranged. They went for a walk around Beechen Cliff and discussed novels. Catherine was very delighted to find that Eleanor and Henry liked to read books as much as she did.

kept his mouth shut, and no one seemed to know about Edward's involvement. She did have a lot of questions about lunch, though. "So what did Edward Cullen want yesterday?" Jessica asked in Trig. "I don't know," I answered truthfully. "He never really got to the point." "You looked kind of mad," she fished. "Did I?" I kept my expression blank. "You know, I've never seen him sit with anyone but his family before. That was weird." "Weird," I agreed. She seemed annoyed; she flipped her dark curls impatiently -- I guessed she'd been hoping to hear something that would make a good story for her to pass on. The worst part about Friday was that, even though I knew he wasn't going to be there, I still hoped. When I walked into the cafeteria with Jessica and Mike, I couldn't keep from looking at his table, where Rosalie, Alice, and Jasper sat talking, heads close together. And I couldn't stop the gloom that engulfed me as I realized I didn't know how long I would have to wait before I saw him again.

considered the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters. "My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?" Mr. Bennet replied that he had not. "But it is," returned she; "for Mrs. Long has just been here, and she told me all about it." Mr. Bennet made no answer. "Do you not want to know who has taken it?" cried his wife impatiently. "You want to tell me, and I have no objection to hearing it." This was invitation enough. "Why, my dear, you must know, Mrs. Long says that Netherfield is taken by a young man of large fortune from the north of England; that he came down on Monday in a chaise and four to see the place, and was so much delighted with it, that he agreed with Mr. Morris immediately; that he is to take possession before Michaelmas, and some of his servants are to be in the house by the end of next week."

I sucked in a deep breath, trying to ignore my acute awareness of him by concentrating on the conversation taking place in front of us. It was impossible. He was just so there . Right there. All perfect and gorgeous and smelling divine. My thoughts ran away from me, fantasizing about how hard his body might be beneath the suit, how it might feel against me, how well-endowed-or not-he might be... When the car reached the lobby, I almost moaned in relief. I waited impatiently as the elevator emptied and the first chance I got, I took a step forward. His hand settled firmly at the small of my back and he walked out beside me, steering me. The sensation of his touch on such a vulnerable place rippled through me. We reached the turnstiles and his hand fell away, leaving me feeling oddly bereft. I glanced at him, trying to read him, but although he was looking at me, his face gave nothing away. "Eva!"

Gradually he mastered the Russian system so that he could read messages entirely in cipher. At the end of September, he was called to headquarters and given charge of a group of interpreters who were to learn cryptanalysis. Soon he and Lieutenant Alexander Bauermeister—Hoffmann called them "quite geniuses in deciphering"—were, with their neophyte code- breakers, sending a stream of solutions to Ludendorff each night about 11. The chief of staff waited for them impatiently, barking, "Any radiograms?" at his subordinates. He based his orders for the next day in large measure on the intelligence the intercepts gave. When they were late, he would stalk into the cryptanalytic section to find out what the delay was. And if for a time nothing of im- portance appeared in the messages, he would growl that the intercept service had not been paying attention. Such occasions were rare. Direct telegraph connections were soon

Everything is a miracle. It is a miracle that one--Pablo does not dissolve in one's bath like a lump of sugar. Picasso 7:00 A.M. PST, SECURITY LINE, DELTA AIRLINES y hands were sweating. M Rehearsing one-line explanations in my head was getting tiring, and the queue ahead of me wasn't getting shorter. I started shifting impatiently from foot to foot, like a boxer waiting for the bell, or a three-year old preparing to wee himself. Understandably, this behavior made the older midwestern couple to my right nervous. I considered telling them, "Just be glad I didn't go with plan A," but I had a feeling this would make things worse. Plan A, to be clear, was awesomely stupid. Plan A was to wear a 50-pound weighted vest through security and onto the plane headed for Central America.
