traditional meat for the main meal on Easter Day. It is served with
mint sauce and vegetables.
The traditional Easter pudding is custard tarts sprinkled with currants
and flat Easter biscuits.
Simnel cake is baked for tea.
Easter Biscuits are sometimes called "Cakes", and are eaten on
Easter Sunday. They contain spices,
currants and sometimes grated lemon rind.
Games for Children
Egg Huntvery special treats for kids. Chocolate
eggs are hidden for the children to find.
Egg rolling or the egg race, when competitors try to
be the first to roll their egg across a course or down
a hill... without breaking it!
More traditions
Morris Dance is the biggest attraction of Easter jubilation in England.
This dance is always staged by professional male troupes who
observe old spring dances to frighten away the evil spirits of winter.
